I rekon they are little over the shop but not in reverse
goin from Div 3 to 2nd in Div 2 is a massive jump. Reckon Towns might struggle to reach the 5, will rely very heavily on Goldy. Dont think there is any 'weak' sides, Uni may be the stand out but probably very even after that.
Yeah I rekon Uni is the team to beat - and as last year all bar the bottom 2 teams it was pretty even !!!
It is what it is !!!

Re: SAAFL Div 2 2008
A lot of Scotch's success will depend on how many of their sturt players don't get a call up.
SHOC is next years mystery..
Will be interesting to see how PHOS go with the WEEEEEEED at the helm...

Re: SAAFL Div 2 2008
I'm with you on Scotch chicky.
Shoc have lost a few & didn't show enough last year with what they had so i'll predict them to go backwards.
The Weed will pick up some guns you'd suspect & bring Phos back up the ladder.
Your lads at Payneham after a slow start showed improvement 2nd half of year & adjusted to div 2 better than many div 3 sides before them. So i think you'll be one of the big improvers.
Pembroke were good on there day, if they can keep what they had & pick up a few, they will be dangerous.
Modbury lost some guns & will slide.
Interesting to see Athelstone & Smosh up from div 3. they've both been talk'n it up alot & by the sounds of it have recruited well, as you know chicky its a big jump, so we'll see who can walk the walk rather than talk the talk.
Townies are lucky to keep Golding which will save them from relegation.
But i do predict Uni's to be the hunted. they will have numbers of players wanting to return to the club.
First time relegated they'll all be jumping back on the wagon.

Re: SAAFL Div 2 2008
Any word on Matty Kluzek playing for Scotch this year?? According to the div 3 thread he could be heading out to Flinders Park
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

Carl Jessen leaving? Any idea where he is going? Maybe back to TTG!

Re: SAAFL Div 2 2008
Some were going to Raggies, some were going to the country, it was anywhere BUT Modbury there for a while.
Modbury is one of those teams I never like to write off..especially 3 months before a ball is even bounced..perhaps if anyone can enlighten us on players they may have picked up?
I think someone may have written this before, but it'll be Uni then everyone else... I'd perhaps stick PHOS and maybeeee even Athelstone I think might be around the mark... if all these supposed recruits come good, they might be rather competitive.

Re: SAAFL Div 2 2008
Time will tell LF, but he is keen as mustard and had his knee scraped out. He's putting in a strong pre season, and is rearing to go, so we'll see.
Having someone of his size free's up a few other players too. Should be a good fit into the line up.
You're right though, his speed is a concern, and one that he is working on for sure.
