seems weird on here their is alot of hype about goolwa signing all these quality players but seems none of them are acctually listed on the GSFL site to be cleared to goolwa, infact goolwa doesnt even get a mention?

Mount Compass, Bays, victor and yank are the only clubs mentioned, anyone shed some light on the activities at goolwa

Kev curran must have been on the comuter in the last couple of days, beacuse some of the Saints clearances are now mentioned. Dont forget that the GSFL site is not updated regularly. For example the programme has been up on the site for about 3 days and I have had one for over a month.

How do all of these boys fit under the points system
PUDNEY A, COOTE P ,WILSON H ,WILSON A ,RUSSELL T ,FENNELL B ??

As far as i know,

Pudney = 3 points
Coote = 3 points
Wilson H = 4 points
Wilson A = 4 points
Russell = 3 points
Fennell = 1 point

then they will also have J Jarred (we have all heard of him) who is classed as a local player and another new player J littlefield who will be 1 point

I believe the bottom 4 sides (Goolwa, Yankalilla, Victor and Mclaren) can have 35 points.

The Saints will have to play colts each week to cover the addition of extra points. Colts are worth 0 points while each local is 1, which will make it tight for them if everyone is available.

Compass have picked up some good players with Darling and Sheridan. Sheridan will be very good in a key position and just what Compass require. The clearances are interesting with the Creek looking like they have lost a few and that is without King's name coming into it. Well done to the Saints for being so proactive and the Wilson boys will give the club plenty of strength. I know it is only early, but wooden spoon to a final five spot is on the cards at Saints. Sensible recruiting is something Saints have not been renown for, but in 2008 it looks like they have achieved it with quality blokes from Penola and grunt from and A1 premier team Goody Saints.

They should win more than 2 or 3 games this year!

Top 5 is a big call I wouldn't expect we could improve that much. We will be happy to be competitive and look to make the finals in 09.

LF everyone seems to be concerned about how the saints are going to go this year. plenty of talk. sounds like you have done some clever recruiting. hopefully it is not like other years, with plenty of promise early then fall in a hole.

The difference is that at least this year we haven't broken the bank with player payments.

Very sensible, similar to Compass, they lacked height and strength and went out and got it. Word has it at South that Burdett is burning up the track and could play League in 08. he has had a crack at a couple of clubs and would have to be interested in the opportunities that exist at Pantherland.

Has anyone heard much about Mclaren? They weren't to flash last year, they would need a few recruits to be competitive.

No real big pick ups at McLarens I hear. Could be a tough year ahead.

Hentschke is back isn't he and don't write them off as Jaggard has done well to unite a club that was tearing itself apart. Hentschke will pull a couple with him and there is no side that has had better talent in juior ranks than McLaren. Remember two colts flags in 07.

What you will find Lf is that the bottom sides have 35 points , Wilsons and Pudney are 3 + 1 , penola lads 2 + 1 , fennell , jarred , Mcarde 1 Point . Saints are under and still have more to come .

Noticed an ad in today's Sunday Mail by a club 60 mins from Adel looking for ruckman/kpp. Presumably is Encounter Bay as EBFC written in small letters in bottom corner.
