Ben Kemp is the best bat in the Hills and has been for at least 5 years....

On paper, Hills had a much more imposing lineup but I guess it just didn't come together on the day. The idea of hills playing TV in the first round is stupid. Clearly the 2 best teams. Would have been a cracking final to see them play eachother. Anybody know how the Hills boys are going in the Fleurieu Team?

And I'm pretty sure that Doug Deep doesn't play for Lofty.

Silky I think that T.Maslin would be up there for the D's captaincy. Coming off his big hundred

Bat Pad wrote:regarding meyer shield, i really think hills have a better side than tv, tv are good and they always seem to be on at the right time, i kno you guys have already compared a few players but look at the line up, who would you want to have opening the bowling for you? from the hills you have atleast 4 opening bowlers, Farrin, R. Reid, a galvin or a proir? I would rather any 4 of them in my side before the tv openers, K witcher & D wescombe, lets be serious! Also the hills batting line up which was in the courier, would beat most line ups in country cricket. it would be fair to say that hills had a bad day. Also silky and pp alot of people must really like you guys, who cried to their mum any way, i would swear you have cried to your mum before, also silky can you fill me in about the toilet?? Does any one kno other than kersbrook who are playing in the courier cup this sunday? heard a rumor that kersbrook are the fav.

You Hills Blokes are like one eyed Victorian Supporters!! TV thrashed u last year and this year, but clearly Hills are stronger than TV  Fair to say Farrin is beyond his best and would probably struggle to make the TV side. Wimberley is as good a spinner as Hunsy, if not better, and Wehrman is similar to those 2. And let's be serious, Carter wouldn't make the TV side along with a couple of others that made the Hills side. Yes Reid, Hunter and Dawe are good bats, but King,Hackett and Collyer were backed up by prolific run scorers Wimberley, Rathjen, MacDonald, Johns, Wescombe, Paech and Wehrman! Whitcher who was at 11, opens for Birdwood and would be averaging 30 this season. More batting depth at TV I'd suggest. Perhaps Hills should play one dayers as TV do during their season, to make them better prepared for Myer Shield? Will agree that Ben Kemp is the best bat around though.

Kersbrook will be depleted for their Courier Cup encounter against Aldgate. Meadows V Lobey will be the game to watch.

Stick it right up 'em Cougar.

Haven't been on here for a while, but still interested in the TV scores. How's the ladder looking at the moment?

Lobey and Kersbrook sitting pretty on top, with Woodside, Palmer and Paracombe battling it out for the other 2 finals spots. Woodside should make it, with the last rounds matches for Palmer (vs Kersbrook) and Paracombe (vs Lobethal) season defining.

I think you will find the Fleurieu carnival draw is done on a rotating basis ... as is the hosting ... no such things as seedings etc. just was the way the draw went for 2008 that TVCA and HCA met in round one. Pity one team had to bow out of finals calculations after the Saturday, but suppose we have to be fair to other sides ... otherwise a Meyer monopoly for the two abovementioned associations. Anyway, half of Invitational side were HCA players so still a reflection on the strength of the two.

My Hills Meyer Shield Team In Batting order

Chris sampson (onkas), Shane Bjordal (gates), Ben Kemp (c) (onkas), Rohan Reid (Meadows), Ryan Hunter (uraidla), Kris Dawe (Meadows), Haydn Reid (Meadows), Chad Dawe (Meadows), Anthony Prior (gates) Aaron Galvin (onkas) Brad Dubio (meadows), 12th Staurt Hanson (onkas) 13th (Mark Sinclair (Bridgewater)

Thats a pretty good side dont think alot of Meyer shield teams would get near that, of course people will disagree on some people on been in the side, just going on my knowledge of reading the courier and watching a few games over the last few years, i think duboi is it? i reckon it is his first year, but seen him bowl a few overs at lofty looked pretty good, is he a local meadows boy?

it will be a good clash with courier cup after seeing who is playing each other, i still reckon kersbook are favourites, but tip an upset with gates beating them in the last two overs.
Lobethal v Meadows, arent they both premiers in the last 2 years? lobie 3 years?? Tipping one side will get rolled but dont kno what team but i think it will be a big game, this will solve the bragging rights out, two hills side v two tv sides

Using my imagination with that story silky

Not a bad Myer Shield side Bat Pad, and noticed it was based on every player available. Think you'll find this TV side stronger with again more batting depth.

Colin Hackett (c)(Lobey), Ash MacDonald (Kersbrook), Jason King (Lobey), Simon Barnes (Paracombe), Paul Collyer (Kersbrook), Mark Wimberley (Lobey), Nick Johns (Woodside), Tyson Rathjen (Palmer), Andrew Wehrman (Kersbrook), Peter Hills (Paracombe), Keith Whitcher (Birdwood), 12th Greg Falkenberg (Cambrai), 13th Brett James (Kersbrook)

And you think we are one sided.

Who are you bowlers, Hills, Whitcher and Rathjen, Wimberly and Wehrmann. With the Hills batting if playing well (unlike the latest Meyer Shield) would tear that attack to shreds especially with B Kemp in there. Hills actually have a number of batsmen in there that tear a side to shreds and make big scores (Kemp, Reid x 2, Dawe x 2, Hunter, Bjordal) unlike TV (Hackett, King, Johns) the others are just steady. Its doesnt matter how much batting depth you have when you are chasing a lot runs because of your poor bowling attack. Dubioos or what eva it is and galvin on there day would be tough to face and im glad i dont have to, but then follow that with Prior and C Dawe, would be miles above. Assumes you can play 12 sinclair would bat and galvin wouldnt and batting depth would be the same anyway.

I thought we had agreed to disagree.

Yeah you sound like u know your Cricket, Cricket Fan. But tell me again, what did TV's quote "Poor Bowling Attack" dismiss Hills for this year? And I'll let you know that the "Poor" Bowling attack bowled Hills out for 98 last year too!

Spose you reckon the Power were the best AFL side last year and a "Poor" Geelong side just managed to get lucky on the one day.

No i quite enjoyed Geelong belting the Power.

Thats the beauty of cricket isnt it doesnt matter how good you are it only takes one ball no matter how good or bad it is and its all over.

And some one previously made the comment that maybe hills should play some more one day cricket and that might of showed up this year i think.

Would be a bit disappointing for Cambrai to have slipped after there efforts last year? Diito Paracombe, heard they had a stronger side this year than last?

TV Teams with one Round to play

Lobethal: Sitting Top and can only miss on top spot if they lose to Paracombe or Kersbrook win outright and they don't.
Kersbrook: Must win outright against Palmer to dislodge Lobey, and assured of no less than 2nd place.
Woodside: Unlikely to finish anywhere else bar 3rd
Paracombe: Will hold onto fourth spot if they defeat Lobethal
Palmer: Must defeat Kersbrook and hope Lobey beat Paracombe
Cambrai: Must defeat Birdwood Outright and hope both Paracombe and Palmer lose
Gumeracha and Birdwood can get the footy gear ready.
