04 premiership Coach, I refer to my post Feb 16th @ 11.25pm where I stated I would say nothing further on the matter. In case you can't work out what I was talking about then, it was the 'Coaching appointment and subsequent issues at Ovies.

Read back through that post and let me know of anything that has any resemblance to that issue in my post to Buzz.

As far as giving you my identity in a PM, well you're just going to have to live with it as it, sorry. Keep the dream alive.

I can live with that Rupert.I just hope that you can live with the fact that you are a joke.It takes a real big man to come on here and bag Chris Newman without any of us knowing who you are.How many premiership sides have you coached? You're nothing but a sideline expert.I doubt if you have any respect in the amateur league.Send in as many posts as you want but your words mean nothing to me.I can see no point in reading the dribblings of a gutless wonder like yourself.Have fun on the sidelines.

You can't honestly expect the guy to reveal his identity surely.

Now there's a challenge 04 & Wattle. Coached a SAAFL footy premiership in 1993, coached 3 District cricket premierships in 1989, 91 & 94

I also played in 3 GF's during my time at Ovies, unfortunately only winning 1 of them.

Now 04 had you been the coach, all of that would have been different, wouldn't it!!!!!!!!!!!

just looking back in my memory bank.......camp/magill picked up 20 odd players in 1999 i think fr hectorville due to a coaching disagreement at heccies, they stayed for two years but didnt win a flag. maybe should have with the talent, but the same thing happened after the two years, all the players and more left and followed the coach to burnside kens. camp magill were decimated and folded. at burnside they all got there div 7 or whatever premiership the first year , missed out the second year , every one left and followed the coach again and burnside folded. heccies almost folded but went thru a really bad stage going fr div 3 to 4 to 5 in cons years, now are stuck in div6. and dont think they have fully recoved since. just drawing some comparisons
THE NEW ERA BEGINS.....HIRD AND THOMPSON.....EX CAPTAINS EX CHAMPIONS EX.....cellent choice

No Mercy, my sincere apologies, I mentioned you in my last post, shouldn't have. I meant to name '04 & wattle'.

We all make mistakes, just takes a bit to admit it sometimes, especially when you are a sideliner.

Forgot to mention too 04 , had the best year of my life a few years ago, A,B & C grade Premierships in the same year, not as coach but as a sideliner!!!

Thanks for telling us some of your footy/cricket history, and I must say, that's quite an impressive resume.I'm interested to know which years you played in Grand Finals at Ovingham. And I'm not pretending to be some sort of wonder coach.I was just lucky enough to have had some good mates come out to play when I coached, and with all due respect, there was'nt much competition on offer that year.So I'm not here to blow my own trumpet, but I stand by what I've said all along.Over the years Ovingham could, and should, have done things a lot differently and perhaps the club would'nt still be in the lowest of grades.

04, let me just say this to you, I would not have posted any of the info or details such as I have in previous posts if I was not speaking from ACTUAL experiences with the aforenamed.

Believe me, we learnt a BIG lesson about who /who not to appoint and the necessary checks a club needs to make on people, even then you can still get 'burnt'.

Mate, if I told you when I played in Ovies premierships that would give away my secret and then, I would have to kill you!

I'll give you real story there GTB. In 1997 Kenilworth were struggling in div 4, they amalgamated with Burnside/Kensington for the season. That year Campbelltown/Magill did not even play finals (Were not even close in 5th position) as Eastern Park,Central United,Burnside/Kensington and Para Hills filled the top 4 positions (It was a pretty good comp that year). At seasons end the Burnside/Kensington amalgimation with Kenilworth ended and both clubs played 1998 in div 6.Campbelltown/Magill folded after 1997. Burnside/Kensington,AHOS,West Croydon and Kenilworth played finals in 1998 with West Croydon beating Burnside/Kensington in the GF.Burnside/Kensington folded at the end of 2001 after getting beaten consistantly by 25+ goals each week in div.6.

Also just to give you a hint of how close the top 3 were in 1997 in div 6. In the infamous prelim final at Salisbury (One of the most violent games of footy you will ever see) Eastern Park beat Burnside/Kensington by 1 point after Burnside/Kensington were down by 5 goals at 3/4 time in the pouring rain.BTW just to show finals are a different ball game 2 weeks prior to that in rd. 18 Burnside/Kensington flogged Eastern Park at Burnside by 25 goals . Then in the GF Eastern Park beat Central United by 2 points

Hi Rupert,

I made that assumption on the fact that you blow your own trumpet something shocking. Most people who have played any decent footy dont need to talk themselves up like you do.
Have a nice day.

Just be a bit careful Motleys & PC04, even though the mods on here are pretty good & let common sense prevail there's a few from other boards who don't contribute anything to the regional board that love nothing more than to scroll through every possible thread to find something where they can push out their cyber chests & flash the prefect badge.
As someone who lives a couple of drop kicks from Ovies Oval this thread is a revelation to the history of the club over the years & I'd hate to see it locked or worse deleted over on some gongbeaters whim.
PC04, I saw a couple of pages back that you questioned the numbers I saw at training a couple of weeks ago, I did say it was a Thursday night & did'nt realise that The Cats trained Mondays & Wednesdays. The boys out on Thursday nights had a few Blackfriars tops on so it could've been the 1st 18 having an early run. My apologies.
Hey soccer you owe us 45million.

Motley, I must have missed something along the line. 04 PC questioned whether or not I had ever been involved in a premiership, I responded to that question. How is that considered to be 'blowing a trumpet'/

You really have a twisted outlook on things !! You are now playing at Ovies, well that says it all!!
