My beleif is if you are unfinancial (Meaning you owe the club money) then yes you can be held back. Mind you no matter what if i was to win a flag at a club i would pay for the jumper anyway....... just being involved in a premiership is an honour.

Correct , you can be held if unfinancial , and correct a GF is a life long memory for both the player and the club and its supporters - in lower grades and smaller clubs , the players are some of the biggest supporters the club has ! maybe this part of this topic has more than one correct answer .

OK. Trying to make sense of your ramblings is hard work. It is Div 7, not a bloody AFL club. If you had respect for your club and respect for all of the hard work volunteers and officials do to actually put them on the ground and the funds that are raised for the good of the CLUB you wouldn't take the guernsey. I'm not sure how the fundraising committee would sell raffle tickets - "Hi, would you like to buy a ticket for the raffle, there's no prize, but it will enable the players to keep their guernseys when they leave the club so they will be able to remember the day". I know what my answer would be and it would start with Get.

I guess my question is why would you want a jumper from a club that you're leaving under difficult, or because of, violent circumstances?

yeah, a flag is a flag and all are worth remembering but wouldn't then a t-shirt or some such other thing have more resonance with the players who have left?

the gf sides i've played in at uni have kept their jumpers only because the players were expected to buy them before they could actually play.

Does that mean the players have to wash their own jumpers too?

You might be suprised what i do know mate and who i know from Wingies. I never said you cant keep the guernseys if the club allows it. If your comfortable ripping of your club thats up to you. Why not get a tattoo that can have your logo and premiership year on it, there is plenty of blokes who do that. I was there mate as i was also at the Agrade prelim and having beers in the club that night so dont presume rubbish because we dont agree. If the gypsy and his followers werent all about themselves then maybe the Bgrade flag would have generated some finance and their wouldnt be any issue.

Do you have inside knowledge on whether Wingfield made a profit last year hawk?
I remember the "gypsy" and his followers bought plenty of drinks from the club last year.

Wingfield was trying to tell me i owed them money and they wouldnt clear me. I paid my subs and dont have a jumper. If they cant keep records on whos paid and who hasnt how the hell can they demand money off anyone.

Motley I think you may find that that money may have gone to help pay for some A grade players that not only didnt perform in the final series this year but also may not have performed the final series the year before.

They may have occasionaly but i also know they took their own drinks on occasions too. I would be very surprised if they ran at a profit. If they did it wouldnt be much over.

DO YOU WANT ME TO WRITE IN BIG LETTERS FOR YOU MATE.... Your fundraising committee would have sold about 100 more books of raffles and sold about 20x more ( thats twenty times ) more drinks and plenty more meals BECAUSE your not out after the last home and away game . The reward to a club IF the officials are on the ball , is what footy clubs work for !!!!
And how many seasons do you blokes think a jumper lasts for ..... :-s

No MATE - you don't need to write in big letters. Maybe just settle down a bit. 8) I don't really give a f*** about Wingfield to be honest, just have morals about those who steal their jumpers and then leave the club, which now looks like it has folded because of all the walkouts. And they're certainly not my fundraising committee, not even my club, MATE.

I repeat Wingfield gave the b graders their jumpers. NO ONE STOLE ANYTHING. They have themselves to blame for the walkouts for letting dickhead supporters hang around the club

Agree about the dickhead supporters. Its very hard around that area though to control walk ups. They are all mostly dickheads - we cop them too being in the same area.

Bagman, you're right, I am no longer a player, played in 3 footy grand Finals, won 1 only and the club offered the players their jumpers. As I said previously, it is not a given that they are taken without them first being offered. I have also been involved in coaching a winning footy Grand Final in SAAFL so you are a long way off the mark. What does a club do if the jumpers get taken and they can't afford to buy or get a sponsor to buy their jumpers. Different story if you purchase your own jumper (as they do at Ovies, Pulteney, Adel Uni.) Wake up sailor, your ship is leaving port without you!
Once again you havent done your homework Rupe, I won a flag at Ovies in 04. We were given our jumpers, no one had to pay. The club was grateful to us for winning an undefeated flag. Wingfield let the b graders have their jumpers last year, then when they discovered some of them were leaving deecided they wanted to charge them. I wonder if the guys who didnt leave Wingfield are being charged?
Thats not right they didnt let anyone, why would they as they struggle financialy anyway last thing they needed was to buy some guernseys.
Giving away $300 in incentives plus player payments and your saying club not financial???

Just to clear something else up it wasnt a supporter that kinghit the coach from behind it was a wingfield b grader that has played at the club for years and got dropped during the year coz he wasnt good enough to play in a stronger team whitch they had in 08,he got the shits coz he didnt get to play in a flag so he went around hitting everyone, great club man hey.
