I see that average is shrinking, from 100% to 50% in 2 games, could be trouble in store if you don't come good in a hurry, the coach wouldn't know how to handle losing, I seem to remember him bragging about being undefeated in his last couple of jobs. Must be a strange and unknown feeling for him, poor bloke :( :(

and to be beaten by uni pooftahs as well...oh the indignity :)

Rupert, I believe had a big barney with Jeff over who had the biggest hotdog, they wanted Beryl to be the judge but she refused so I think Jeff quit and Rupert's gone o/seas for a while to recover. :(
I reckon he may return in time for the finals

Rupert will be pleased to hear that he has made someone happy with his post. He was last seen with Jeff climbing the mountains in Tibet accompanied by 2 donkeys laden with extra long hotdogs & bread rolls. They are setting up a stall on the plateau 1500 metres from the summit to cater for the tourists.. I believe the stall will be aptly named "Beryl's Big Ones"
I hope they do well in the business, they may not return.(ps Jeff could get a part time job massaging the Sherpas spare parts)

rupert may be happy that someone likes his post, but would he be happy with the weekends result? do carrier pigeons fly that high or will he have to wait for the next delivery of 'donkey dogs'. hope he can 'katchup' with the news. do the 'gypsies' have more than crystal balls?

Not sure that Rupert is concerned with the weekly scores, I understand his interest lies in the end of season "free for all".
Will the same thing happen at Ovies as happened at the other clubs, ie. fights, stolen jumpers, unpaid subs. etc.

I think the opening words to the song by Cher went, Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves, not sure of any relevance to crystal balls

well well, isnt this an interesting forum.. I have played under the one and only Chris Newman for 3 seasons now and I know any doubters have no idea what there talking about.. You all talk the talk but would never walk the walk.. Look at his stats.. I started under his coaching at Gepps Cross and till this day have not seen a flaw.. His a rough as guts type coach and man in general and no matter who you are be damned if you'd just walk straight into one of his sides. You must train hard and earn your merits. You effecticely must walk what you talk.. And if you dont your shown the door.. At times harsh but a lesson learnt is a lesson learnt.. He is a man of thinking, a man of determination and a man of his word..

Why people come on hear to garbage him I think we all know.. You have all be told a crock of crap and if genuinely strong about your opinion you are to gutless to name yourself.. If your are all so worried about Ovingham FC come on down.. Have a look for yourself. We are doing quite fine. You help us out if you think thats what we need. Theres only so much a small club can do..

And on the 'Gypsy tag'.. Can anyone honestly tell me why he would have alot more then a hundred players follow him in the past 3 seasons.. Unfortunately not all have made the cut though... why? Because there are so many good players wanting to be coached by him.. He is a very sought after coach.

All in all, Chris Newmans style is impetuous, His defence is impregnable.. So beat it all you doubters

Bubbula, Chris newman is exactly where he belongs- out of the way of serious football clubs.
In a club structure, Chris found it impossible to be a team player. By that , I mean that the team he had control of, did not put pressure on the side above his. The players under his guidence, were undisiplined off the field on many occasions breaching club rules. Chris no doubt has some abilities, but I fear , we will never see the best of him because he, like most of his players want to be big fish in the little pond

If your referring to Gepps Cross. I think your right in the way that some players were not prepared to play higher.. I think that comes down the fact that they wanted to play along side there mates.. And the drinking and carrying on.. That wasnt that bad.. Evey club has louts and thugs, you cant deny that. I think they're best off playing C Grade. I see C Grade as more a social game. I mean I know for a fact that there were players in Matt Newman, Josh Murphy and Mathew Laird that trained there guts out with the B Grade for about 3 or 4 weeks from recolection. 2 were rewarded with games then turned away. Charlie was offered the services of several C Grade players that year and declined the offer.. Clintonm Payne booted a record this year.. I never heard him get an ultimation to play B Grade. Why critisyse other players for not going higher. So I really dont think you can read to much into that. The C grade werent exactly treated right either.. I mean, I understand A grade gets priority but the C Grade werent even allowed to get changed in the home change rooms at training nor was a grand final celebration funded by the club after bringing an undefeated premiershuip back to the club. Work that out.

If Charlie Wintle had shown more interest in C Grade 'No-hopers' they would have played finals and been respectable in 06 because half that B Grade wouldnt have make the cut for C Grade in 06.
