I've supported that place enough over the last 10 years. Besides, I had a playdate with a footyspunk..

Got some good footage at Seaton ( I know, wrong thread) and had a bit of a chat with Eugene Warrior and Scotty Hodges while I was there too, which was more entertaining than the game..

(hence my playdate with some footyspunks  )

So much for all that hype early in the year, Not much of a jump from Div 3 to Div 2 is it ??

You just can't help yourself can ya??

There was only a couple goals in it leading into half time. Looks like PNU kicked away.

Not even the umps could help SMOSH today..(and that they tried  )
Come on FC, helping himself or not his judgement on those off Bartley Tce isn't that far off the mark.

Sh!t Rotter, your actually agreeing with me finally. :D
One things for sure the Rotter & Mercy have been entertaining rivals of late.
Its not hard to judge the Bartley Boys is it?
I wish now i posted my tips for this weeks Div 2 games as i had Chicky's boys to beat SMOSH by 5 goals even with the guns SMOSH had back from injuries, infact i had Uni to upset PHOS, i didn't expect the margin tho, yes i know its easy to say now!
SMOSH are only two games out of the 5 & we're only halfway, i suppose if they can win the same 3 games in the 2nd half of the year they can avoid relegation.
Its a pity they have all these injuries!!!

Well Modbury turned in there worst first half of the season at Pembroke but was great to see after a bake from harrison
that they showed some real character and rallied from 5 goals down at half time to win, a very impressive 2nd half, they now travel down to NM favourite side Smosh

Cakebread was lurking around. Even saw him have a kick at half time.

After round 9 it's as good a time as any to predict a 5 for the end of the season

Modbury
SHOC
PHOS
UNI
Towns

Athelstone
PNU
SMOSH
Scotch
Pembroke

Modbury's impressive start to the season will see them end up minor premier unless something goes wrong but anyone that dismisses SHOC as a Grand Finalist would be a little fool hardy.

FRIDAY - gees you're being generous. It's all well and good to start with a bang after promotion to a new grade but trying to come up week after week and make a real go of it over the course of the season is a little different.

NO-MERCY"S final standings.

Modbury- may go through undefeated
UNI- danger side to Modbury
SHOC-equally as dangerous, never know what your gonna get come finals
PHOS-only 2 losses, will be around the mark to challenge
Edwst-very reliant on Golding, should scrape in the 5

Athelstone-injuries havn't helped them after a good start early
PNU-seem to come good around the halfway mark like last year, will just miss
SMOSH-  will have to start doing something now as still chance to be relegated
Pembroke-They have a crack, but need more Pinkney's in side
Scotch-A bit the same as Pembroke, havn't recruited well enough

We'll still win the premiership. Probally won't lose a game for the rest of the season.

Actually, most sides wil be lucky to get within 10 goals of us.

Nearly wanted to hop in my car and drive home at half time of the A grade on saturday! Modbury didnt look like a top 5 side at all. But as mentioned earlier a Phill Harrison baking was enough to get em going! Not sure what they put in the water down at Pembroke but a couple of them lads were monsters!

Trip down to SMOSH will be interesting, not sure whats going on with ur A grade but looks like ur B's are flying! May be time to put a few A graders on notice Turbo?

Saw the second half of the UNI - PHOSC game and UNI were good.

Their onballers, the CHF and Full Forward all played well.

PHOSC were poor - only two goals in the second half and skills were woeful, couldn't have hit the near side of a barn with a handfull of wheat by hand or foot.

PHOSC would want to improve on that effort to have any chance againt SHOC this week.

UNI might be back, but this weeks game against Edwardstown away will give more of an indication.

Great comeback from the A's but should they have been in a position where they had to "come back"?

To me
1 Attitude B4 the game was typical of a Top v Bottom side-not quite switched on
2 Have not won at Pembroke for the last 5 outings (Hoodoo ground)
3 Pembrokes first half was classy; full of run and structure
4 After half time Modbury played to their near best and their winning attitude took over.
5 After half time Pembroke couldn't believe they were up by 5 goals and without being too harsh their losing attitude kicked in

By the way
Last time Modbury had Adrian Drosd as an umpire he was woeful, umpired everything from centre and was badly out of position. Well if any umpire observers read these threads go up to Adrian and tell him well done. IMO he sprinted up and down the ground, was nearly always in the best position to make the correct decision and was generally in control. Vast improvement and full credit to him for his endeavours.
No I don't suck up to umpires but if I can bag them for crapp, why wouldn't you commend them for a good effort?

Spiro Darzanos seems like more than a handy inclusion for SMOSH WL... Has he only played the one game? I'm assuming he is the same guy that played for WWT there couldn't be two footballers in Adelaide by that name!!! I remember him as a crafty small with some real leg speed and an eye for goal... When or more precisly if SMOSH get their best 21 on the park they will prove more than tricky for Modbury SHOC PHOS & co... Anyway am interested on the Darzanos addition???...

Jayne, you're assuming Modbury, SHOC PHOS and co are already at full strength. I would imagine they, like SMOSH and most other teams have players on the sidelines that they'd rather have in their 1st 21 as well. Surely you don't think SMOSH are the only ones looking to improve in the 2nd half. In addition, are we talking about the same SMOSH that didn't prove tricky against PNU on the weekend.
