CT- What was the Emu's view on Flaggies after Saturday's game? You guys didn't rate Christies, where would you have the Falcons placed this year?

Fish went well. Got a number of touches araound the ground and was one of the few to play well over the 4 quarters. but apart from that as CT said there wasnt alot to take away from the game. Cold, windy overcast and aside from the clubrooms pocket there isnt any atmosphere or crowd at flaggies. Put all that together with some shocking skills and it made for a pretty average day of footy.

Flaggies look really young but that didnt stop them having an honest crack. You would hope that they can keep them all together and maybe in 2-3 years seriously challenge for a top 4 spot and beyond.

Unsure if anyone else attended the Marion V Cove game however, there was a particular umpire (name unknown) however blonde tips in his hair, the other one was bald so fair diffrence :-) who was disgraceful!! I heard, cannot confirm though, that he tried to force his way into the Cove's rooms at half time, while ando was addressing his players trying to show them a rule book. He thought he was bigger than the game, and although I am a Cove supporter I thought he got emotionally involved in the game and had a disliking of Cove to the point where he gave them nothing and his umpiring showed that. At the end of the game he was walking off pointing at the crowd and yelling abuse at them. It was a disgrace and i hope SFL officials who were present have a word to this bloke becuase he made an outright clown of himself.

I reckon Jono is talking about Clem Penhall, who has been around for a long time. At Bomberland he gets called Bernie because of a striking resemblance to the dead guy in "Weekend at Bernie's". Our former No. 23 came up with that one. I'll reserve my comments on Clem, other than to say he is an interesting character.

Never rated Hawks a chance of beating Christies. The difference was that the Saints were up against as side they could beat, and that made a difference in how they played.
Their results over the previous month were only Hackham-like because they were playing like it --- not because they were only as good as it.
When its too hard the Saints start waving the white flag. This time they didn't have to.

Nothing to get too excited about this week except Porties and Flaggies. Very interesting game with Flaggies entitled to start favourites. No doubt Porties will try the bully tactics (especially at home) that they turn to against most younger teams so a good test for Flaggy lads.

Marion weren't disgraced again on Saturday. Was impressed the week before against the Bombers and played to a definite game plan of setting up play from defence with good use of the footy. I'm not sure who the coach is but he seems to be doing a good job with not alot of depth outside the A grade.

Morphies cross the road to take on Hackham this weekend. Hope im wrong but it could be ugly with the Hawks losing by heaps to a team we beat by 40 goals just last week. Look out for Scotty Pollard who's a chance to bag 20 points this weekend, and who knows he may even thread a few thru the big sticks as well!

I rekn milo by about 10ish,but in saying that emus play smakm hakm this week so polly could be a big mover this week.i think he kicked a lazy 27 last time they met so he has a reasonable record against them.

Morphies form hasn't been that flash of late, with that comes the resignations announced during last week of senior coach Steve Hill & President Greg Beeching  , apparently they will see the year out which probably explains the real reason for Reid signing at Jervois last week, that didn't go down well i hear.
Where will Hill go next year?
Knowing Steve Hall ( as he's known to be always in Trevor Mittons shaddow ) he'll no doubt try & get a job with him at South Adelaide, i bet he'd be sniffing around for the U\18s job. :-k

Think you might be confusing Mitton with Potts.
I won't believe any of this unless it should come official.
Morphies not going all that flash !!! What do you call 43-23 to 4-4 ? Still the one to beat.

Thanks for the update Mercy, the implosion is near... You seem to have really got this one right... Form of late..??? There is your first mistake...

In 2001 Steve Hill came to the club along with Trevor Potts, the club hadn't been involved in senior finals since 1997, in 2002 both grades made the finals, 2003 coached the B grade to an undefeated flag, repeated this in 2004 (history making), 2005 B grade premiers, 2006 A grade premiership coach, 2007 "Undefeated" A grade premiership (history making)... Pretty good service i would've thought, 5 flags in 8 years with this year far from done, would be a great way to finish off perhaps..?? How many clubs could boast this type of stability of late..?? What are you implying, Steve should've hung around for another 20, Sheedy style..?? Steve is happy with his decision as are the club/players and how it has been handled.. It had to end one day... I'll ask you this, for the betterment of the club would we be better off knowing now or on presentation night..?? Such is the respect between coach/players/club that now was deemed the best time for everyone. Now gives us the opportunity to seek out the best possible replacement that suits our current situation... As for the South position, they could certainly do worse, can't quite understand your Trevor Mitton reference though..?? :? As for Reid, his close mates know why he left, i guess we'll see where he plays next year to see how good you mail is..?? Not very is my guess... As for our President, been in the job for 4 years and if you knew anything about successful footy clubs you would understand that quality volunteer's are hard to find let alone hold a difficult position such as president, he's done a great job and i feel your early mail may shoot you in the foot as to what Greg will end up doing next year... Not all doom and gloom as you've attempted to make out... Looking forward to the next 3 months, i guess only time will tell...

The post from Mex makes it news official enough --- it is obviously correct. However all I've still heard is a couple of significant resignations that are not immediate ---- definitely no implosion about that.
The score I posted was done against Christies Beach. Sure the Saints are not the strongest side going around right now, but there is still only one club that has kicked 40 against them, and they have now done it twice ----- the latest coming two weeks ago. Hardly a sign of an implosion by a side that is currently "struggling".
Morphett Vale are still my tip for the 2008 Flag.

Well said mex.

You know it does not matter what anyone thinks because at the end of the day,we all no at mighty m/vale that everything is going along nicely this season, and to Steve Hill and Greg Beeching we aplaud and appreciate everything that they have done for our club.

To the next point does anyone on the forum have any ideas who they think would be the next coach of our great club.
