Thanks Jayne

What a great site also!!!!! drove past the oval today and its held up well with the rain. Should be great game Modbury will look to bounce back after an insipid performance against PHOS.

They do get a heap of traffic on it I spose. Brighton is heavy, probably for the same reason. Would think Athelstone and Scotch would be the same being in the hills.

Yeah Tea Tree Gully is terrible also.

Modbury has improved since new drainage was installed a few years back. we have trainings on it every night of the week and the middle only has a small amount of mud which has suprised me.

Last year Athelstone Oval was the worst condition oval i have ever seen. there was absolutely no grass just mud. never seen anything like it

after all this rain? :? C'mon Footy Smart, me thinks you're being a bit generous with the Modbury pitch report..

Can anyone enlighten me on the letter allegedly received by Modbury suggesting their facilities should be condemned?

and you've just got some cash from the council and will be starting reno's soon? Hooray if you are.. :D

No the oval is looking pretty good considering all the rain we have had!

FC i can tell you that the club is looking into building new changerooms which has been on the agenda for a number of years. At the moment it looks like there will be a new changerooms built closer to the clubrooms which will be great for club.

As for the letter, i think your refering to adel uni who happened to play the day after heavy rain, (FC you know what changerooms are like after rain) and rather then send us a letter with there concerns on why they didnt go into the changerooms at all, they decided to send the SAAFL and the council letters instead.

Yeah possibly being a bit generous saying our deck is perfect Footy Smart (maybe u should get out there one session to get a first hand opinion  ), Bit boggy in the middle but apart from that its looking pretty good.

In regards to the letter sent, apparently after Uni's played there they complained about the condition of our change rooms. Nothing really in it. We know better than anyone they need to be knocked down!

Looks as if we will be getting new facilities within the next two years. Final plans havnt been decided yet but it looks as if state of the art change rooms and new club rooms are on the cards! Not all the cash is coming from the government, pretty sure we are footing a chunk of the bill also. Were no charity case like a certain div 5 club

Uni probably did us a favour and got the sporting club into action.... Still they could have approached the club first. The only reason they saw the changrooms were so bad is because they walk around with there noses in the air

The Modbury away change rooms and home rooms are well over due for some renovations which they will be given in the next couple of years
at least there is some room in the away rooms which is more than i can say for a lot of clubs in the SAAFL. Should be a great day down at Uni, and modbury will be looking to bounce back to some good form after a dissapointing result last week.
I swear Uni must be full of poms, they'll whinge about anything
Only mould and foreign fungus growing on the walls in the showers. You as a student of proper medical practices would be aware of the dangers of that, still a bit of legionnaires disease never killed anyone did it.

Rotter, had you been at the Modbury v PNU triple header last year when it pissed down all day and I was taping blokes up in ankle deep water (in the away change rooms), you would have heard me swearing profusely all day at having to work in such swaller.

I whole heartedly agree with you... just taking the urine because it just seems like nothing Uni have got their noses in everything at the minute (of which i will go no further into on here)

We can't seem to win on the field the last few weeks so need to take it up elsewhere

I don't think it was 12, maybe 8 or 9. Still when you put 21 blokes on the field that's the end of it, if you're not good enough, you're not good enough. Looking at that team it appears they've got 5 back but lost two more from last week so only a nett gain of 3 from injury and 2 from the scooby doos. We'll see what happens but at a guess you'd think Modbury would be too strong.
