All this talk and the best decision was made. Alot of people are now keen to dig in the heels and make for some real success.
On another note if the A grade win the next 2 games that will make it four in a row, we haven't even had back to back wins at the club for about 8 years! Would be nice to knock off Marion this weekend another side we have gotten close to on more than one occasion.

Neil Craig was approached some months back to take over, 2 meetings ensued and seemed happy with the club and it's structure's, made it very clear that he was in negotiations with another club (at a higher level) and that if things didn't work out that he would take over the position, since then he has resigned for another 3 years, oh well maybe next time. Other's interviewed so far are - Kevin Sheedy, John Cahill, Robert Dipierdomenico and Barry Robran, we are queitly confident that one of the above will end up at the Mighty Emu's next year...
I just can't believe you left out ChocoHe will be absolutely spewing he wasn't even considered.

You've made my day, Rodney ! Great news.
Good on ya Sharks great news wish you guys all the best, just a question thou will you be able to fill u/18 i know you had them last year hopefully you guys will.It should be easier to get kids to play there and not willunga pongy etc if the a grade can keep making inroads,i rekon you guys wont be to far away from some long due success
One of the clubs main aims is to fill an under 18 side and we think it is a realistic goal. Of course with a few more wins it may have made it easier but in that we have a great group of younger guys that are keen to get back on board.
If we have a comitted reputable coach then it will be a much easier task, Mex do you reckon you could photocopy the resumes that come in for the Emus A grade job and send them our way???

I believe Liam Shrive is being tapped up to return to Emus in 2009 as a player coach (Emus club song to be changed to Pat Benatar's "All Fired Up" to clinch the deal).[/quote]
Could be a very interesting night that one, some air guitaring and even talking from ol' "Pam Shriver"... Hope it's a cracker of a night and you can have a win to make it that much sweeter. However beware of the left jab that may be flying around towards the end of the night...![]()
You obviously know the way to this mans heart! The Shrive will be all fired up this weekend with his 21st at the club saturday night and a rock stars dress up theme it promises to be an interesting night

i dont think Bassani has the coaching abilities as some of the other blokes down at mvale. he had a very experienced sqaud down at EB last year and didnt make finals, the man is a great adminstrator, but as a coach i wouldnt appoint him. Would no doubt contribute to the club in some other way than what happens on the field!
He would more than likely want to play too...
