Interesting whether this game Modbury v Edwardstown gets played at Modbury, if we have no rain this week it should go ahead but alot of rain could see this game transfered to an oval with grass on it!

I watched the first half of the towns PHOS game and the standard was pretty average and lacked real intensity which was strange. PHOS used the footy better and got out to 8 goals if i remember rightly. I then heard that PHOS stopped and hibbard kicked 9???? what happened???

Modbury B grade had a good win and looking forward to meeting SMOSH who they lost to by a point last time.

Well, Well, the arrogant prediction from a certain club stating they would go through undefeated in D2 and D2Res didn't come to fruition. The grade must be very strong? According to some of the club's hierarchy this team would have played finals in D1?

Yes I was one of many people that took delight in opening the Sunday Mail to find that Uni are out of the finals race... Arrogant is a very accurate assessment of that particular "football club"

As for Towns Vs PHOS yes PHOS up by 7 goals midway through the 2nd quarter. Towns then kicked 16 goals to 4 over the remaining 2 & a bit quarters to win by 5. Hibberd finished with 6.

Where will this weeks games be played? Heard an ugly rumour about a possible Sunday fixture??

when was the last time you were at modbury oval no mercy? in excellent condition considering how many teams train and play on the ground every week junior and senior and the amount of rain that has been around.

Every club has teams training on the grounds. but Modbury's Change rooms are a disgrace and that alone should be a reason for not having home finals.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

What has happened at Townies for the big turnaround in form???

Answer. Club coach quits 2 weeks before season starts. Golding appointed coach with numerous assistants to help out. It was a big enough ask to takeover for anyone 2 weeks out let alone someone who has not coached before. He has done a magnificent job and speaks fantastic to the players. Then some assistants quit due to personal reasons and they are left with one assistant coach (too many cheifs and decisions not being made quick enough). They have not lost a game since. That is what the turnaround has been in there form.

They are now lucky enough to have nearly all senior players to pick from at the right time of the year (no injuries to speak of).

Footy smart I hate to say I told you so but write the Townies off at your peril.

Think Modbury will have a game on their hands this week.
Was there anything from PHOS's end to make them give up a lead like that, injuries?
Saw Stephens is out, he's a big key to them in the midfield.

efc i didnt write them off all i did was say what i thought about the team when they played against us twice compared to when we played PHOS and SHOC. I thought my points were right in the first half before i left thebby but for towns to win after being 8 goals down is a credit to them.
I can assure you people at Modbury see towns as a real threat esspecially if hibbard gets the footy and there runners find space. Any way should be a belter of a game this week.

Why do the away changerooms get such a bagging. There is plenty of space and seating. sure its a tin shed but hey unless we get a huge amount of rain the rooms are fine to get changed in. There was some rolled up carpet that was wet and smelt once and the precious uni complained but other that i have been in far worse.

Who do I have to start calling precious now?

The carpet in the visitors changerooms would probably come back with a million types of mould if it were tested. When it rains the floor near the rub down tables floods, even Stuart has said it's been threatened with condemnation....

Adelaide University Football Club

Im not saying they are perfect its a tin shed with concrete floors but there is no carpet anymore and with minimal rain they are fine. I have played at Prospect Oval and had to change outside as the whole visitors rooms were flooded and hell Uni's are a storage room/changeroom. The club knows they are terrible and are doing something about it.

Yeah wondered that, a Div 4 game is on there and a Div 2 game at St Marys?

C'mon StMarys isnt that bad, from what I spoke to the Uni and SHOC players and supporters said it was great on Saturday, firm surface, big open ground and both teams are just down the road. Providing there is no rain Friday you should be able to park cars around the oval aswell and the BBQ was a huge success from what I saw

Defintley. St Marys is fine, more the point of why a Div 4 game was put in front of a Div 2 game? Think both SHOC and PHOS are more than happy to play at St Marys

It is outrageous that there is a Div #4 final at Thebarton. Surley the highest 'ranked' game that is not a bought final should play at HQ. With Henley, Gepps & Modbury all buying home finals [no surprises $$$] then the Div #2 first semi HAS TO BE played at Thebarton.

Playing at St Marys park is an advantage to 4th placed SHOC as they are familiar with the surrounds after beating Uni there last week, which is a disadvantage to 2nd placed PHOSC. It would have made better sense to give that advantage [small] to PHOSC by playing at Thebarton.

Div #4 UNBELIEVABLE... The SAAFL continuing to be amatuer in their management of the league
