Heard that Para Teachers might be folding. Struggling to get enough numbers to field 1 senior team

What has happened out there then, they had 4 sides only a couple of years ago.

Judging by the possible gradings list that the clubs were distributed last week, it appears that Central Districts have not nominated any teams. A bit sad considering they were one of the dominant sides not too long ago.

Salisbury North at this stage have been given the opportunity to be promoted to div. 2, is there any news on who they've picked up?

Willaston folded, they were meant to be in Grade 4.

I overheard someone from Eliz East complaining that their A's got put up to div. 4, if they played their best 11 in the A's instead of C's, they'd go allright.

North Pines A's are in div. 5, they asked to get put down into div. 6, wtf.

Gee weddings suck, in one of the early rounds for this season, we have 6 A Graders going to a wedding and are unavailable for one week. We can only do the replacement rule for 1 player, it leaves us in a bit of a predicament. There are several ways to tackle the situation, just picking the right one is the problem. Do we:

1: Replace them with the next best 6 players and do the same with the B's & C's, potentially risking 3 losses.
2: Do we concede and make sure we don't ruin our lower grades hopes & hope the A's can make up for it.
3: Give some youth the opportunity to see if they are up to it.

I guess it will come down to who we are playing that round. At least my wife made sure that we married on a sunday in between footy & cricket season.

Round 1 Grade 1 tips

Salisbury West vs Two Wells: I'm tipping Two Wells simply because they are the reigning premiers, it wouldn't surprise me if Westies get up at home though.
Brahma Lodge vs Sandy Creek: I think Sandy will get up as they'll be better prepared
ATCO vs Virginia: I'll seem contradictory here by picking ATCO, no Secca's for Virginia & I have heard whispers that they are struggling ATM. I think ATCO will feel far more at ease not having to face Seccafien.
One Tree Hill vs Rose & Crown: I'm tipping OTH as they were so keen to stay in Grade 1, maybe some players have returned and because they are at home.

I'll do seperate previews on the top few grades as I get to them, there is not much to go on ATM, only rumours and speculation. Good Luck to all teams, I don't think they could've had a more evenly matched 1st round.

The draw didn't help our cause too much, all 3 teams have strong opposition for the affected round, damn

So we'll have to wait and see where we're at until tomorrow i guess.

Two Wells. Hard to pick because not sure about sals west side at the moment.
Sandy Creek.
Virginia. Not sure about these two sides have to go on last years form.
One tree hill. With a decent captain this year should go ok

Who's captaining One Tree Hill?

Apparently Virginia are struggling, this happens so often in the PDCA, clubs work their way into Grade 1 then fall to pieces, I hope for their sake that this isn't a re-occurence.

Smithfield did it early nineties, Two Wells mid-nineties, Willaston late nineties, Salisbury North early 2000's & Central District after dominating the comp for a while.

Para Teachers have one side...........in Grade 6, WTF

I think PTCC might struggle to even field one team. I've even heard that their juniors have folded too.

We had a disasterous start to the season. Out of our A & B grade from last year, there were only 9 available for round 1. We had someone do a "no show" in the A's and someone from the C's took off after he had a bat, no one realized he was gone til we took the field. We used 2 juniors in the A's, 3 in the B's and 5 in the C's, roll on round 2.

A Grade
Playford 249 (R.Hannun 3/46 (19 overs)), J.Kulik 2 wickets (15 y.o, A Grade debut). Smithfield 2/30 (approx).

B Grade
ATCO 290 (C.Lowe 3/17).

C Grade
Smithfield 141 (N.Goulding 30, C.Rundle 29, A.Taylor 24) vs North Pines 0/98. Well done to A.Taylor, 13 y.o.
