i think it definately highlights the difference between the comps.each team in a&eh has a few strong players but then it falls away quickly and would be a medium between hills a and b grades.

Techno might confirm but apparently when he came out to bat they were calling him Greeny, thinking he was our Aldgate recruit

Looking at the Aldgate side they certainly look a bit thinner, esp with the Big O getting a game. Uraidla rely on too few too often to ever threaten to win a flag IMO

i dont know about relying on too few their dutchy. seems they had 2 new blokes contribute with the bat and made a score of 250 without hunter making a massive score. then Hunter got 4 with the ball and farrin 3, with carter and brown both wicket takers they seem to have a good spread of batters and bowlers this yr while blooding youth.

ball magnet you still have to hit them, and when you play at bridgewater where theres a policy if you open the bowling or bowl first change u bat down the order, and if u bat high u dont open the bowling or first change.

probably does reflect the difference in leagues but hills assoc last year got there asses kicked and a and e h did better, but then again they also got beaten by invitational 11 which SAM FURBER was involved in..
langhornes creek arent to good but if he played at bridgewater against langhornes creek he wud have made 150 because bridgewaters oval is so small,
and hills ovals r all smaller then a and eh ovals which helps hills batters out more, and hills is all hard wicket,
a an eh is a mixture of both which tests batsmen more...
but at the end of the day i would rate hills a better comp in general but i would say the best batsmen ive seen in all my time is gregory hassold and the best bowler is ben warren BY FARRRRRRR

Agree with Cricket Lad, not only did Uri's regulars appear to contribute with the ball but young gun L.Thomas hit a well deserved 50 in the first and was only one ball away from a second 50 in the 2nd innings. D. Brown in his 2nd yr at the club hit a dominate hundred as well. A 135 and 87 run first wicket partnerships looks like a pretty good start

But where did he land them Dutchy?
Techno, I notice u r grooming a new set of openers to allow the others to fade away over the next 5 years. I like one as an opener but can the other make it?
How did the Ledge go with his bowling? Still only 3 over stints?

Alaska,
the ledge bowled quite well, by memory bowled 5 straight then had a rest but it could have been more so dont quote me.
The ledge has been looking very good in the nets as well as Reece (the other opener) and with Techno and handy stints from people like shooter and Andy Adams it looks promising.
Im not sure if you have seen Scibs line up Alaska, but there are alot of young blood this year, and the club has choosen to use the youth policy when they can to encourage juniors.
Which openers are you referring too?

this is correct for the bottom four sides but the top 2 or 3 sides in A&EH would be with the best in the hills & TV...

What about luke hoyle, opening bowler and has opened the batting in the past?

Best Batsmen, Kemp, R Reid and Bjordal in no order. Best Bowler K Bartlett, some guys still have nightmares about his steep bounce and pace.

Nairne and Meadows are having an A grade 20/20 games this season.. we will see what happens in this game..
i just think that the top couple of sides in A&EH have improved by a mile this season and would be very competitive against the top sides from Hills & TV i cant wait to see what happens in the Courier Cup..

And Again, the Courier Cup has more Torrens Valley Clubs names implanted on the Cup than any other......Same as the Meyer Shield! Might as well call the Courier Cup the Lobethal Cup, as that Bloody Name is posted all around it.......Unfortunately they're all over the T.J. Hannum shield too.

Hey Alaska, is it cold there?

We're just trying to deepen our batting order as we have Myslef, Shooter, Chucky, Smith and then the other 7 are still pretty young - all under 25 with 5 under 20 I think. Our lineup may change a bit over coming weeks until we settle on a side. I'd hardly say Shooter and Chucky are fading away though. Chucky is only 31 (had a hard life) and Shooter looked in vintage form on the weekend.

Best Baatsman in hills - Techno, the rest.

Don't worry Dutchy - I think I saw your tounge in cheek.

Also Ledge bowled pretty well. Good first 5 overs but struggled with his runup in the second spell. Maybe it is the oval ??!?

Also everyone hear my mate Tarque has signed with Meadows, like they need another good player. If Tarque starts bowling agin in the hills poor old Brown will look like he's bowling offspin and mine will look like they're going backwards.

Out of interest, being a Bridgewater resident and walking past and on the oval alot whilst walking the dog, how many balls do they go through in a match into the creek? The fencing htere is terrible and it seems balls could easily fit under when they hit that boundary. Surely something something needs to bdone about that. Either an expensive exercise using lots of balls as I am sure no one watns to play wiht a dmaaged wet ball.

Should be a cracking game between Aldgate and Meadows this week at S russells playground. With the big Tim Henschke looking like a lean mean bowling machine. Let's hope S Russell knows where his stumps are this week in his playground, we all know he's a simple sort of fella
