What club are you from mate ?
Not sure if any of you guys ever bowled to Super in his prime ? Now there is a bloke that could butcher an attack.

Dwayne Jones could've owned the Para Districts comp with both bat and bowl. Pity it was only when he wasn't complaining about something.....a niggle, run ups....you name it.

That's fair enough, I'm sure that they would have had to submit a list of players that have left and would be not allowed to play this year, that's what happened to CDCC and they dropped down to div. 3, they still thwarted the system though, allegedly.

We were told no one from a and b grade would be able to play thats why theres the parafield garden teachers this year

On Sunday the 9th of November there will be the first round of a twenty/20 tournament being held at Smithfield Oval.

It will be a double header with the following games to be played.

12noon: Smithfield vs Playford
3pm: Eastern Park vs Craigmore

It promises to be an exciting day with drink specials and bbq and some entertaining cricket.

The tournament will be 3 rounds plus finals held at a different venue each round, all double headers, I'll post round 2 details when confirmed. At this stage it will be 23rd of November at Playford.

No one showed any interest in a comp at the AGM or pre-season meetings, we got together with the 3 closest clubs to organize something between ourselves and set some amicable rules, all 4 clubs were in agreeance so we went for it.

If each club gets to host a double-header each, that would cover a round-robin comp plus a finals day, it's a good chance to make some coin and we set aside dates that suited all of us. It will be a busy day for any hosting club, but they'll only have to do it once.

If it works out ok, we will be having one annually, yes, you guys did win the last one that the PDCA ran, it was a shame that it died in the arse. We asked the 3 closest clubs for convenience reasons, if any of them weren't interested, we were simply going to ask the next closest and so-on. I can't see why you guys couldn't approach Westies, Sal Nth and perhaps Rosies to set up something similar, if teams don't have to travel too far you'll get good support and a good chance to make some money. PM me if you want to know any info on how we set it up to be an attractive proposition for all involved.

Was that the grand final that turned into a one day game ? They had a pretty good side that year...Super, Shaun O'Brien, Robby Drake, Pat Silcox to name a few.

PS. Exceptionally poor to sledge somebody about their family ! That is definitely crossing the line.

Every club has a harassment officer, if you found something to be uncalled for or offensive, report it. I believe sledging should be kept to cricketing ability or lack of, or kept to events from the game, there's no need to get personel.

Hey stama or catchit, I noticed that no one has filled out any information from Two Wells on the "my cricket" site, it's a bit tricky to start with but it gets easy once it's up & running.

It is going to be the new match reporting system before too long, if you guys are having trouble with it, pm me and I'll help you get it up and running.

Yeah, he was an honest cricketer, I thought he was good enough to go on with it, I played more cricket with Dwayne though in the seniors with Elizabeth before they merged with Salisbury, we opened bowled together. We usually nicked off to find the nearest 8-ball table when we were batting, we took turns in 10 & 11.

I don't think I've ever produced a sledge that wasn't related to the actual game itself so I would say to not get family involved. But I suppose it depends on what comment it was. If it was some generic comment like mothers wearing army boots then I wouldn't think it was too bad. If it was something where they knew something and tried to be specific about it then that's most definitely out of bounds.

I guess the most important thing is the more a sledge hurts the less you need to react. If it's a real serious one then I'd be telling the umpire and giving them the chance to take control, tell the captain at the next break in play and put something in the match report. I know in the lower grades umpires are the team-mates of the batting side so anything coming from the sidelines is likely to be their mates but I think you have to at least give the umpire a chance to do the right thing. If they don't then let the association take the action required.

And where's Norm11? Rumour I heard was he got reported for dissent or something.
