It seems that every year 2 or 3 of the associations in the comp don't take it seriously by not picking the best guys, the best guys refusing to play or the guys there not caring too much (or more to the point a combination of all 3). I don't think PDCA were arrogant. I think they felt undermanned and tried to compensate with some bravado. If we were to expect that the guys would take it seriously then there have to be rewards for playing and/or penalties for refusing. But you can't really do that so we will have to put up with only really trying every 3 or 4 years after being embarassed or when someone puts some serious energy into it. Perhaps appointing a captain before the season starts and have a training squad meet a couple of times before the first game for a net session together would help.
I asked the Virginia guys on saturday , none were asked. Ratters not asked . Your right need something in place to make sure we have our best team on the park. I am a strong believer that we should play our best 12 every year. But doesnt always turn out that way. i think that we should have suspensions in place if guys are asked and dont play just because they dont want to . I know this is going to start a stir but thats what i think
