You'd have to be about $2.50 at the moment for the flag.

Not really much difference there mpm.

Sal. West $2.10: They just keep doing enough to win.
Two Wells $2.60: Can never be taken lightly.
Sandy Creek $3.80: Will improve as the season progresses.
Virginia $5.00: They are prone to have a shocker every now and then, still a good side.
ATCO $6.00: Have started well, not sure if they are up for the marathon though.
Brahma Lodge $8.00: I wouldn't right them off, but they need to find something.
One Tree Hill $12.00: Doing better than i thought they would be, thanks to the great DS.
Rose & Crown $20.00: Are capable of a few upsets, premiership very unlikely though.

A funny thing out at Virginia on the weekend, the wind was so strong that it blew one of the stumps over.

Cricket is a funny game though LM, the guys that have gone to PGCC from teachers shouldnt be playing in that division. The current PGCC b grade captain (Scott Rydquist) was in the a grade side when teachers were in div 1! At least its going to strengthen the club and make it strong for the next few years, i think both sides will be playing in grand finals this year

Round 2 of our 20/20 comp was a good day again yesterday.

Craigmore appear to be the team to beat at the moment as they toppled Playford for 64 with some awesome fielding. They knocked up the runs losing 3 wickets along the way.

Smithfield knocked up 4/195 and dismissed Eastern Park for 108 in the late game, well done to Shaun Goulding with his 104 not out.

Round 3 will be held at Eastern Park on the 14th of December, Eastern Park vs Playford at 12 noon then Craigmore play Smithfield at 3pm.

Craigmore have pretty much sewn up a spot in the GF which will be held on January 18th.

I don't think PGCC A's are travelling that well at the moment, I remember playing Scott a few years ago, he dismissed my mate and on my way out I asked "What's he doing with it", "He wobbles it" was the reply I got. I had a little laugh to myself and thought cheers mate, first ball it wobbled through the air with a bit of pace behind it, I was mystified and listened to my mate after that.

He is pretty well underated by alot of people, they dont think he does too much from the sideline but always seems to get amongst the wickets. Their a grade are expecting a few guys to come in after xmas, Big erv being one of them, and he should carve up in grade 3. It will help them post 250+ scores for the rest of the year

They are very consistent at being inconsistent, I wouldn't read too much into it, they'll bounce back.

Virginia in a world of trouble, and lucky not to be further in it! West lost the skipper before the game and after bowling out the visitors for 45 were 1/114 or something. The thought was to get on with the job, post 200 or so and get 10 overs at the end of the day. A few cheap wickets and some good bowling saw us lose 8/30 or something similar. Virginia 6 wickets remaining and still 30 runs behind with John Mac in the sort of form only the very best grade 1 bowlers are capable of. And capped an 8 wicket day with a direct hit run out at the end of the day!

I never noticed before I saw the score card but Virginia are really lacking in depth. 2, 3 and 4 are their best bats and were 3 of the 4 bowlers used. Number 5 was thought to be opening the bowling but took the gloves instead! Makes you wonder what 7, 8, 9 and 10 are in the side for. Interestingly that bloke batting 5 played against our D grade a few years ago and didn't exactly look out of place down there. We won the game players short and with a handful of 13 year old kids! No doubt Leo and a couple of others are good grade 1 players but when any of them are out of form or if miss a game there could be some ugly losses for Virginia. Grade 1 is too tough a comp to go with guys who can't play grade 1 for too long. To that end, despite Virginia's second spot on the ladder at the moment, I can't see them making the finals unless Leo and his couple of mates perform miracles all year long.

You have to respect what they've achieved with the loss of key personnel the last 2 seasons.

John McInnes currently with 8 for the match.

How many of them have they won?

1 from 4.

i have always respected west and always will... but to only have 1 out of 4 and the 1 being a tie....with the players they have had and the chances they have had to bury sides in the gf they should of won 3 of them with ease... once that is in your head you become vulnerable on the only day that matters...

The first one we lost to a Central Districts side who had won 3 in a row. Had them 8/90 chasing 130 when we dropped Craig Laird on not many. It hurt as we should've won but they were the best team all year.

The second and third definitely cut deep within the club and especially with the skipper. We were by far and away the best side both seasons. Were we too young ? Did we have too many passengers through the season and when it was their turn couldn't cut it ? Could we not cover the injury to Nobes both seasons ? Lots of questions Benny and I still daydream of what might have been. And I reckon if we'd won, you'd have the whole group still together.

After many departures the club backed up again against your boys. 4 players plus Nobesy missing from the previous GF side made it a wonderful effort just to get there. Take the equivalent of Ozolins, Parkhouse, Nobes, Illuminato and Jim North out of any other club and you'd have some very interesting results.
You guys had too many weapons to not go top that year and were definitely favourites - which is why I thought your gesture at the end of the game was way harsh :o

But at the end of the day, you are correct. Its not good enough, particularly with the clubs excellent finals record over their history.

should never take anyhting i say or do to heart mate.. when i was batting i was sledged alot more than usaul, then when it came to fielding i never forgot all day what someone in your crowd said to you when you shook my hand at fine leg early in the piece... those little things put together puts alot of emotion in the game, which is why i love this game.. so when the last wicket fell and the choaker signal came out it was all in the emotion of winning a premiership.. as long as we can all have a beer afterwoods which we all do its all good i reckon..
