Browny - I cant remember the exact offer but it was decent....it wasn't chicken feed thats for sure.

Like I said earlier, I'm not judging, just pointing out that it does happen and its not always the case that everybody knows about it. It was a few years ago.

And if told something in confidence why would he betray a guy who he might end up wanting to play alongside as old men in 20 years time? You don't burn bridges in this town, and just because he won't tell you something don't think it means there's no truth in it. Money gets thrown around to players from all sorts of angles (I bet the Wiz himself could tell stories of clubs throwing money his way you'd have never thought possible) and EVERY club uses whatever angle they have to get players to improve themselves.

Spot on Graham... I dont need to justify anything.

And 84... Why so defensive ? I never judged your club in regards to the player payments. Why would I care ? Just letting you know that it well and truly happened as it was brought up here.

Believe me, not everyone knows everything that goes on in a sports club in regard to that kind of thing. You may think you do, you may be on the committee....it means jack !

the only reason i care 84 is cause someone from your club bagged us out to frank carter about paying players.. and now i find out bl tried to pay some players a few years ago

I still haven't read it!!

must be affraid of the sledging he will get. but to email it to frank carter is very ordinary

and frank couldnt wait to pass it on to the wells... i remember reading it on the thurs night and couldnt believe it was emailed to frank and not us..
that is weak.. and then to find out in the last couple of days that people were offered money makes it very interesting..

You'll have to let me read that email in round 7 bud!

I'd be surprised about the money but I guess we have to take those peoples word.... they have no reason to lie.

Brahma Lodge has incentives and if your good enough to make the runs, or take wickets then you are rewarded.

I'm guessing it was Nobes, but you would know more than me.

I am very interested to know what "deal" was offered, and in fact who offered it to him!! Sibs?

If you havent played a game yet for a side this year, u can be cleared to play at any club at any stage of the year. Mr McQueen will be able to tell u exactly but thats my understanding

It was talked about and looked into last year but not feasible, if the club moved they would lose their juniors as i believe there isnt a strong junior comp in Barossa turf comp. Not sure if its been looked at again this year, norm will be able to give more info on this

That would be correct, if you have played for a side this year and the club you are leaving is willing to do a dual registration, that is the other alternative. In your case Hanno, I'd imagine you haven't played for your previous club and are wishing to cross Main North Road and an airport. ;)

Vintage hanno, come out for a couple of one dayers, make a few 50's, i think you should come out to a div 1 club (sandy creek are a great bunch of lads, i hear) and have a crack at the highest level. It would be good to see you out there, you are good enough.

Tips for round 5.

I'm tipping a few upsets on the cards here.

Brahma Lodge will get up over Westies at home, Sibbick due for some runs, Westies due to drop one.
Sandy to win at home against Two Wells now that Billy has found some form.
ATCO to get up over One Tree Hill in a close one, I don't think the one-dayer suit OTH.
Virginia to bounce back with a win at home against Rosies, their a far better side out there.

All the home sides to get up, a pretty evenly poised round though, I wouldn't be surprised with a 0 from 4.

I agree with all but... I would like to think we can beat westies but they would be heavy favourites!
