Anyone tell me who the young guns are in the A and EH under 21s squad? D Peglar, J Chenowth, B Cousins (to potentially name a few)! Which hills association team will be the strongest in U21's?

Collyer has never been cleared from Kersbrook.

20/20 Torrens Valley comp held at Perteringa and Balkana Ovals on December 20th, with the current 6 'A' grade sides mixed in with the Top 2 from the A2s (Likely Lenswood and Cambrai). And yes the Round Robin Tournament will have the GF played under lights. Understand the Southern Association have run something similar previously, but this is a first for Torrens Valley. Agree it will be interesting to see what numbers turn up, with the comp so close to Xmas and you would think the big hitters in the line ups of Woodside (Wescombe/Johns)and Kersbrook (James Bros/Wehrman) would make them favourites for this.

Will there be premiership points attached to it?

I was speaking to the Pres, KC at our training last night and apparently the 20/20 comp will only involve 6 teams, and not 8 as originally decided. So unless a few A grade teams pull out, no A2 teams will be involved. Assuming that we hold our spot in the top 2, we were pretty keen to be involved as it’s a waste of a Saturday not to be playing :)

An no, I dont believe pts are attached to the results, which makes sense really.

Apparently ATCA and SACA have the same agreement with players coming back into TV cricket. Seems one of the TV umpires with a distinct Palmer surname filed a complaint about Collyer's ton. Didn't hear Birdwood complain a couple of years back when at the time, TTG player Peter Hills took 10 wickets for Paracombe in one day against them.

It is a bit of a joke that no clubs (as far as i know) have recieved any informatoin about the 20/20 comp. On the program it is not even listed. Will all the A grade teams be able to field full strength sides? Everyone is just guessing at the format, time, how many teams ect.

As far as I am aware, the 12 that won the comp last year were given the first option of going to K.I. At least 3 from last years team won't make it in Whitcher, Collyer and MacDonald. Understand Frohling and young Aufderhide have a mortgage on 2 spots but not sure on the other. The other 9 blokes victorious in last years Meyer shield were Hackett, King, Wimberley, Wehrman, Paech, Rathjen, Walker, Wescombe and Johns and think they're all available, but things could change before the Jan Long Weekend. Ex TTG batsman Barnes from Paracombe is one I'd draft in IMO.

Good idea between the 2 clubs. Reckon the Courier Cup should become a 20/20 comp as well with perhaps 16 teams invited and 2 games played (1pm and 3:30pm) on the same oval. Although personally not a fan of the 20/20 format, could perhaps generate more interest in the Courier Cup, and with 2 games on the one deck would become a money spinner for clubs.

Razor i think there is room for both the courier cup and a 20/20 comp they should get all the pubs in the hills to sponsor the event and each year hold the presentation at one of the pubs but making sure its fair and having it at a different pub each year? what do some of you others think ??????????????? :o

Hi Lads, just wondering if any other are running into the same frustrations we are trying to bowl some young tallent in 2 game days. We have a couple of young lads who have looked really good and deserve a decent bowl in the A2s however the rules are preventing us from bowling the overs they should be.

Rule 25 is as follows

25. OVER LIMITATIONS ON FAST AND MEDIUM PACED BOWLERS
This rule is applicable to fast and medium paced bowlers aged under 19 at October 1st in the current season in all matches in all grades. Medium and fast paced bowlers are broadly defined as those to
whom the wicket-keeper would normally stand back.
a) No such bowler may bowl more than 20 overs (16 overs if under 17)
b) No such bowler may bowl more than 8 overs (6 overs if under 17) without taking a break
from bowling of at least 60 consecutive minutes, during which time he does not bowl at all.
c) It is the joint responsibility of the Scorers, the Captains, the Umpires, and the individual
players themselves to ensure that this By-Law is upheld.

Personally i think this is a load of bull, i am told its a SACA rule to prevent the burnout of young players, problem being we can't justify putting a kid in the B Grade if after 6 overs he has to be pulled off. Understand that coz its a SACA rule thats just the way it is but im interested to know if anyone else has the same issues?

im not so sure about that, we have a 3 of these lads who we would like to play up which whilst it can make things difficult, not impossible. I more dont like that just as they have a good rythm going they get pulled off, not so bad with those 17 & over, getting 8 overs, personally rekon 6 is a bit rough but.
