Yeah im sure it's happened plenty of times but it's not great for the comp!!!
Grade one doesn't need a team like TW folding!!! If anything we need it to become stronger to get better players coming to play!!!

There surely now, must be a push to change the format of the PDCA. Make cricket more exciting. Watch this space in the next couple of weeks.

There is supposed to be an unofficial meeting between clubs to discuss options in 09/10. It was the Lodge that tried to go out on a limb last season and change everything, it went tits up because they didn't ask the right clubs to get on board, there was a lot of valid points that they had but it was presented poorly.

LM, the Lodge and 3 others and the PDCA. Your right though, in hind sight, every club should have been involved, thats why when you learn by your mistakes you do things better the second time around. Wheels have been put in motion, just waiting for a couple of loose ends and all clubs will get an email with proposals for next season

Cricket tips time

ATCO v SC Could be the start of the Cocky revival Outright win on cards
Virg v BL A loss for the young tigers and it may be curtains. Brahma to win but not by much
SW v R&C Roseys on spiral back to Gd 2 Will be competetive but West too strong in attack Outright on cards
TW v OTH Smokey for match of round. Wells should be too strong but a lot of G&D has been shown this year from OTH

Sandy Creek to just fall short of an outright win
Virginia to beat Brahma
Westies to win easy over rosies
Wells to beat OTH in an interesting match.

1 of the 3 others was Two Wells, no disrespect to them but they only had one side, it was a bit of a kick in the pants for clubs that field 3 or 4 teams.

There are several different options, if we were to go to a 6 team comp, one possible option would be to have 5 one-dayers then a top 3 finals, then 5 two-dayers then a top 3 finals, there could be seperate relegations on top of this, with the spare Saturdays, they could be used as catch-up days for heat or rain affected games. We could also squeeze a 20/20 comp in there somewhere.

I think the season finishes too close to footy season, we have annual arguments at our club in regards to trial matches.

What about 3 seperate cups? 1 day champs, 2 day champs and a 20/20?

One team per club, this would encourage spectators, 3 qualifying games then somewhat of a knockout comp. We're not too fussed, we've already got our 20/20 comp sorted out for next year, another one wouldn't hurt though.

It's funny how some players simply don't want to play A Grade, make it a 20/20 game and then they are there with bells on. We give our A Graders first option to play in the 20/20's then work down the line after that.

for me 20/20 is good to watch but hate playing it and to have it form a part of the regular season would be a mistake IMO. If players arent enjoying the longer version of the game especially at the top level of the comp then i would the pdca going backwards. only playing 5 2dayers is terrible

`i like it the way it is... 3 grand finals is to many, it makes it better knowing that you are the only team celebrating at the end of the season... that might sound selfish but its true..
the only change i would suggest is starting the season with one day cricket, not only would it be easier to fill sides,it would be a advantage to the bottom 3 or 4 sides as well..

def needs to be a 20 twenty comp in there but not for points, for cash 1000 min would get all clubs wanting it...
maybe it could start the year off...

def nothing wrong with the team but it doesnt matter how strong the team is you need people to run around off field and sort things out...
and at this stage there isnt to many people putting there hands up...

maybe the ones who were doing it before might come back and play grade 6 and run it..

That's the same at many clubs mate, how nice it would be to be able to just rock up and play cricket, one year I had a kid in under 11's, one in under 13's and I ended up having to coach the under 15's, my wife was pretty happy.

I know one thing is for sure and that's it will be a shame for the comp to lose Two Wells OUT OF GRADE ONE!!!!
Not only will we lose another club to the already fragile comp but we will lose some very handy cricketers!!!!
Back to back and than out of here not good!!!!

Two Wells and Willaston both won Grade 1 flags in the 90's then folded the following year. The main thing is to have someone unemployed running the show or someone who's employment allows you to be able to get your club stuff done.

i think that was grade 2...

thats the thing everyone is to busy with work and family...
