Hahaha, good one.
Definately agree on the bowling side, would be good to see how many wickets he could take in a whole season injury free

Yep...very good bowler.

Would also like to see him get through a patch in which the batsman is on top, rather than asking to come off because he is 'sore'.

I remember us making 2/350 against them.....he only bowled 10-12 overs for the day.
And I remember chasing 150 off 14 overs to beat them outright.....I reckon they got 2 or 3 out of him that day too.

best of luck for your finals..
i can't wish westies any luck however
why is it they choke come finals time?? thats not being nasty just a valid
question??

Cheers...we need to win this week to make it. Lose and we're out, simple.

I'll answer that for you -

GF 1 - Played a quality Central Districts side gunning for 3 in a row. Our first GF with a young group and were outplayed. Didn't make enough runs and was always going to be hard to defend 120odd. Had them 8/90 when Jimmy North dropped Craig Laird...that hurt. Wouldn't call it a choke after avoiding relegation the season before.

GF 2 - The tie. Rosies finished top after the minor round. They had us on toast and we took 5/15 to scramble a tie. A lot dont agree with it, but the records show we won a Grade 1 flag.

GF 3 - The one that really hurt. By far and away the best team all year and we'd been building to this for 3 seasons. 120 minutes of poor cricket cost us big time. Credit to Billy who had an outstanding match and pretty much single handedly beat us. Cricket is a funny game and this one showed it. Choke....yep.

GF 4 - Lost Adam Ozolins, Rocco Illuminato, Shane Nobes, Andrew Parkhouse and Jimmy North from the season before. Take the equivalent players of any other club....Any club and they are not playing finals period. A great effort to be there but were beaten by a far better side in Two Wells. No way would I call this one a choke.

All in all, I think the choker tag is a bit of a myth. As pointed out by Grahaml....only one other club has won more grade 1 flags. I have played in 4 so I think the club is still going alright.... ;)

Have westies gone into finals the last couple of years against soft sides? With easy wins?

That was a very good game but thought rosie deserved cos they finished top.. Thought the game changed a few times and could of went anyway, remember westies had them 2 for 1 in the first over..

Where were these games u speak of ? I know i am going to cop shit for saying this but my back is always sore its just depends on how sore it is on the day. Was very good two years ago when i bowled 14 on the trot against u guys. Then batted for three quarters of our innings , then bowled 7 overs again ,THEN batted for about 15 overs or more to make sure u didnt win reverse outright
Back to the creek it is.
