Re: Adelaide Suburban Cricket Assosciation.
We have an A grade cricketer of the year which all the players vote on. It is a 5 and 3 system and you cant vote for yourself. Do Plympton really have something that the opposition captain votes on???????????? That is very interesting never heard of that before. Does any of the Plympton boys know how it works? I would be interested to hear how it did.[/quote]
The opposition captain votes on 3,2,1, basis after the completion off the game votes are done when scorebooks are added up at end of day 2. There would be no one in plympton a grade deserving the b&f

So do the players themselves vote on it as well?

That really does sound like one of the stupidest things i have ever heard. Half the captains wouldn't take notice of what your guys did. They would just use the scorebook to pick the 3 "best" players which we all know doesn't always tell the true story. It is bad enough having an award the umpires pick let alone the opposition, it really astounds me that club does that

Re: Adelaide Suburban Cricket Assosciation.
at sheidow we have one player each week do a 3,2,1 for the match for the grades b & f.... i like the idea of all 11 players do a 3,2,1 on the match and then from all the votes have a collective 3,2,1. if i read correctly that is what u said happens at wyc, ck or bloods??

Re: Adelaide Suburban Cricket Assosciation.
at wyc mate we do 5 and 3 votes and cant vote for urself!
so the maximum votes a player can get is 50 votes per round. we count all votes and at the end of the year we add them up. so each round there are 88 votes going in. not a 3,2,1

Re: Adelaide Suburban Cricket Assosciation.
"1 post wonder" how rude.
Yes Bazza, it almost feels like we have come up against one another since we were wee tackers. If I had grown up that way, I am sure our parents would have had huge trouble getting us to come home from the park.
Thanks CK, now everyone can guess who I am.
As for '1 hit wonder' hopefully it will be this weekend.
I am old, the body is older, and my brain is having trouble catching up.
I felt good last weekend... just got off the mark, middled a little drive to mid-off... then Nick Work bowled that 'superball'. I think the keeper was lucky to have survived.
Hope to see you down at Hackham Bazza (a fair hike, I know), maybe ya mum could look after the little ones.... I'll even shout you a beer if you do
