Nice preview Sweendog- I'll forgive you as your combination of Collingwood, Port Magpies and Christies definitely categorises you as a feral. Whose computer are you typing on?

Can confirm a few things for you guys. Morphy Parks B grade complained about pitch, a few SFL delegates had a look at it, made Valleys fix it with cricket mats. lost about a quarter of the game because of it. Also training for Happy Valley is on Tues and Thurs so all is good and can comfirm also that Morphy Parks might crack the top 6 this year, have recruited well (must be a bit of cash somewhere???) and the ruckmen that looks the goods is Seb Guilhaus played a few league games at Glenelg last year

What was the issues with the pitch??
Was it covered in little black rubber balls?

Yes covered in little black balls but was not suitable around the pitch as some areas were a little raised and may have rolled a few ankles, the council approved wat they had done but im sure now the Valley will make sure its never complained about again

I just wanted to get a few facts straight.
The cricket pitch at HVFC is a synthetic grass stuck to the concrete. This was installed approx 2 years ago.
During the season proper the pitch is covered in shredded tires (very fine rubber) which provides a substantial barrier against the concrete below the synthetic grass. The rubber granules cannot be used to cover the pitch until the cricket season finishes. With the club holding its preseason 20-20 comp each year they needed to find a suitable covering for the pitch that could be removed so cricket could also be played during the same weekend. The club purchased a set of soft fall mats which are used for games when the rubber granules cannot be on the pitch. Basically the worst injury you can get from the mats is a carpet burn. The mats have been used many multiple times without any injury every and the granules have been used for two seasons now without any complaints. I hope this clears some things up.

you seem very confidant of beating lonsdale sweeendog, just wondering where you get this from as lonsdale and christies always have close games, i can't remember a blowout in this fixture even last year when lonsdale were riddled with injuries and playing a team with 10 or 12 average b grade players.

Saints to win, but no percentage booster
Reynella ---- a Dave Earl team soft ???? You just don't know the guy.
Cobras --- Port will take a while to get their act together again.
Noarlunga just over Roos --- big Seb will be a huge threat but Shoes to prevail
Emus too hot for Vikings
Big win for Towns ---- a total mismatch and shocking programming for Round One
Sharks to slay Rams

They've lost a lot from last year, and may have to wait until Manhood is back in business before they threaten the power sides.

I dunno if it will be interesting, 2 old blokes running into each other! Both of us can hardly get of the ground these days, so it's not pretty!
I don't know if Juice played a lot of senior basketball to tell you the truth KD, so he was far from having my measure!!! He did hand out the drinks like a pro though!!! ;)

Yeah I dunno how good that webpage is.
If you click on a team (in fixtures)
Then click on club home it will then bring up a section fon the left for clearances.
But it doesn't seem to have all the clearances on it. I know of two other players from our team last year who are playing in the SFL and their names aren't listed on their team clearances either.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

You guys sound surprised by this??

Remember it took till this year to get a fixture up before this year the last one you could get on a website was 2006.

I think come that second last saturday in September they MIGHT have updated all the clearances.

The site only has clearances from mid February onwards i think so any clearances before this date wont appear.

I actually quite like the site and when it is updated and fully operational it will be quite informative.
