Returning from interstate to a different club

Postby Pseudo » Sat Apr 04, 2009 8:45 am

This thread prompted by a comment from whatever on the main board: Name players who had a stint with a SANFL club, left that club to play interstate (or otherwise stood out of the SANFL), and returned to the SANFL at a different club from the original.

Most recently, Chris Hall.

Paul Weston.

Shannon Corcoran rates a mention, though he never played a senior game for his original club (Bays), nor his returning club (Port).

Name some more...

I don't think Ray Huppatz did. I think he returned to Woodville, but after that went to Port Adelaide.

We have two currently playing at Norwood: Stephen Doyle, Matthew Davis.

No, he was from Shepparton (Vic) via Richmond. You may be thinking of Aaron Keating who played for South Adelaide before joining Norwood.

I'm pretty sure after his 2 seasons with Hawthorn, Greg Whittlesea went to Glenelg rather than return to Sturt.

Darryl Hewitt went from Woodville to St.Kilda, then onto South Adelaide.

Thats correct AH.

Robert Schaeffer returned from Richmond and went to Centrals rather than back to Sturt.

No, he had 4 seasons back with West Torrens 1978-1981 before joining Norwood.

No. Played at least 3 seasons with the Eagles.

Jack Spry went back to WA from North and then returned to play for Port.
