Not suprised to see the brighton result, they will be the ones to beat this year - a very impressive outfit this year.
Well done to the chicken twisties. 6-7 goals down quarter time - 4 goals up @ half time - 12 goal qtr. Challenged by the cheezels but chicken were to good in the end - dam shame I love morphett ville. Was a great game by both sides.
Bye weekend bring it on. Get a spoon all.

jeez! Wouldn't have picked that one. Christies are going to be the surprise packet this year.

How are Aldinga travelling at the moment? Did they have their best side out against Lonsdale, or were there injuries? :?

apparently brighton had a few noteable outs too so clearly the benchmark has been set. few tips wrong?? alot of people saying morphettville park big improvers and for marion (who got belted by them last game last year) to be down at quarter time by 7 goals at their home to come back and win is a good sign for the rams. will be some cracking games this year for the 6 or 7 mid range teams for those final couple top8 pozzys!

pretty much full strength yesterday fisho. kouta being the only notable "out" i think.

we were only 2 points down with 3 or 4 minutes to go, after fighting back from being 3 or 4 goals down at half time, only for a few brain fades, bad disipline plays and a couple good passages of play from the lions to put them in a winning position.

Scores definitely went into the mail 6.55pm last night.
Between the SFL and the Sunday Mail I'm having a wonderful time this year
And while I'm at it, I'd like to thank the SFL for informing me of next week's Valley/Brighton clash being on Friday Night
That's why "The Boot" had it wrong ---- the SFL as usual treating me like a mushroom. And every year they beg me to keep it going.
Scores yesterday were:-
Edwardstown 14-11, Port 14-5
Brighton 25-13, Cove 12-14
Marion 17-13, Morph Park 15-12
Noarlunga 38-31, Hackham 4-0
Lions 12-18, Aldinga 8-15
Christies 20-8, Flagstaff 9-7

Disappointing effort by Flaggies yesterday. Came out at half pace versus a Christies side hard at it and which used the ball very well, particularly in the first half.

Some of the footy they played during the first quarter was sensational, and they may well trouble some of the 'bigger' teams.

Dilligaf and sweendog- congrats, hope your boys can continue your form against the big boys.

Flaggies- time to regroup and make sure we come switched on from the first bounce this week!

An absolute belter of a match. Both teams would be happy with the match, points aside. Last week, Milo copped a serve for going missing against quality opposition. I'm assuming Morphett Vale believe that they are quality opposition, so any chance of someone like to man up and admit that Milo was absolutely sensational today? Come on boys, give redit where credit is due, I know you want too....

Seems Early has a definite master-plan on how to best use Milo ---- and it worked beautifully today. Reynella were simply terrific, and quite possibly could have the best coach in the SFL right now. Under Earl they're going to be tough, tough, tough, and despite all the pre-season banter they could even end up grand finalists as early as 2009 !!!

On paper they would have seemed to have had a much stronger team last year, but it looks look Early has somewhat transformed the club around, he could be what they have needed all these years. Milo is a great player, by far Reynella's most important player

Probably a bit of both, TBB ---- Townies are definite quality and will be at least fighting for the double-chance (top four) as the season progresses, However after watching them yesterday I'm still not convinced they are DEFINITE top four.
Porties are still a danger against anybody. I've seen them twice already this year and their hunger for the ball is terrific. When Manhood is back in business, look out for the Divers !!

Come on boys, let's not get ahead of ourselves, as good as the win was we understand it is only round 2. Teams are getting used to new coaches, new players and new structures. The boys enjoyed a big win, one they haven't had for about 4 years, but we are definitely not even speaking of finals. Both teams were pretty good today and as it turned out only a matter of points between them. It would have definitely been more enjoyable to be a part of it, but it was obvious the boys didn't need me! May find it hard to get back in the side the way the boys played!
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!
