Re: Hilton does it again!
If this was an isolated incident, then no problems...but HD has made this type of behavious a habit at regional calcutta's.
As for the need to alert the club to the problem lets be serious here...haven't heard how much the horse went for, but would have been no more than $100. FFS they even auction the emergencies which 99% of the time have no chance of running, but punters still buy them to get their name on the board.
This is more about someone trying to bignote himself...

Did they draw the horse in the Calcutta???? If they paid $350 for it, then they don't deserve it back!!!centreman wrote:Was told it sold for $350

Still doesn't excuse HD's drunken behaviour.

Re: Hilton does it again!
Due to the large crowd and plenty of money in the room the prices were huge. $350 was easily the lowest amount of the night and for good reason
.
The Fielders boys were bidding for anything at that time of the night hence they purchased the last 3 horses. No they didnt get money back buit they did purchase the winner anyway for an $11.5 k return. I had to laugh at the $3k bid for Sea Factor straight up to start bidding
HD was trying to be a hero

Re: Hilton does it again!
I tried to have a civilized conversation with Hilton at the Payneham Tavern last week at 5.30 on a weekday and he was a dribbling mess. I walked away.

There is clearly not enough
for the great man who tips the winner at the 800m mark in the run..... At least now we can lay his 'thoughts' during the race

Re: Hilton does it again!
Did anyone see at Port Augusta yesterday Hilton has declared Amy Herrmann as massive overs in the jockey challenge after race 2. She was $26 at the time.
Starting the day at $14 she missed in the first race on a horse given a place chance, then she went out to $21 then after missing in the second race on another place chance. $26 was put up after race 2 and Hilton has decalred her as massive overs and to get all you can find to put on as 'she would finish very well'. Hence she got backed and shortened to $10 and tab sportsbet took her on to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars.
She was on pigs after that and didnt score a point all day. One wonders if Hilt was on a 'percentage' to get some action on the bet type as I cant see to many people punting on the Pt Aug JC, they are a bunch of cowboys who go like a bat out of hell from the start and try and keep going. there are no tactics whatsoever.
Hope Hilt got a sling ....and for those punters who followed the lead

HD is a true stain on the industry. An embarassment. I hear he did spruik Ista Kareem in the Sydney Cup, might make up for the long run of outs he has had on the punt.
How he is on SKY's payroll is beyond me. No class and that was evidently clear today at the 'Breakfast with the Stars' when he pestered a clearly unimpressed JJ.

Better then being a stain on your old mans shorts like some of you blokes who are trying to suggest a race caller should behave to role model levels expected of footballers. Overall Hilton does a good job calling the races and most find him entertaining, so what if he makes a few mistakes out of the callers box, one of which was not trying to prevent the calcutta rob occuring by selling a scratched horse.

Re: Hilton does it again!
I don't mind him but he obviously has to work on some areas from what I have heard and seen.
He does not set a good example when he is working looking like a victim on the punt and 'if' he does have a drinking problem and plays up then he needs to have a look at himself.
