Obviously being a Port bludger, you picked the name which had the least letters and was therefore the cheapest.

(Just having fun. FWIW one of my mates had Ross 2 Gibbs for that exact reason!)

You may as well scratch Evans and Hodges then....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

When I was a kid, I loved Full Forwards, I guess that's why it was my favourite position to play. It really bugs me what the modern game has done to the full forward.

Anyway, this is about my favourites, so here goes .....

Ian Brewer
Mike Coligan
Emmy Jones
Ken Whelan
Fred Phillis
Roger Luders
Eric Freeman
Gary Sims (he coached me as a kid)
Grenville Dietrich (a genuine character)
Dennis Sachse

Players who ended up at full-forward: Rick Davies, Malcolm Blight

All time favourites: Bruce Schulltz, Ken Farmer, Bo Morton

Being a backman, I generally hated Full Forwards!! But I fully agree about the modern game's influence on the Full Forward. Lloyd and Bradshaw probably the only genuine FF's in the AFL, Chambers probably the only one in the SANFL. Salter could become a long-term FF at the Eagles depending on what happens at the Power. Wundke from North was one I thought could have gone on to become a ten-year FF at North, but alas he was drafted.

Anyway, favourites naturally were Malcolm Blight (was too young to realise he had played elsewhere) and Stephen Nichols. Can't say I really gave a stuff about too many others, probably because they all kicked bags against the Warriors. :(

Well, Im not sure that he was ever actually named there, but Neville Roberts was a "virtual" FF at Norwood ... The main option in attack, and predominantly a leading forward.

As a kid, I always liked Luders and Dietrich, also Jakovich and Stephen Nicol, and of course those Port sides of the late 80's with blokes like Hodges and Hynes you just had to admire (even if you didn't always enjoy it lol).

In the 90's I didn't see as much footy, but I enjoyed watching Tractor Prime, Jim West and Christian O'Brien at Norwood.

From other clubs;
Roger Luders - human highlight reel. Riley should still be ashamed of what he did.
Stephen Nichols - great job in very poor sides.
Grenville Dietrich - pizza, beers and goals. have to admire his preparation.

I just never warmed to Tim Evans in any way, as someone who liked watching good players from other clubs on tv or live, when not playing Norwood. Probably hated Port too much but he also never looked like he seemed to enjoy the game that much, even when Port was winning a lot. Just a teenager's view, but couldn't warm to him, albeit that you were always worried he'd drop eight on you.
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.

Great list AH. Luders and Whelan were exciting to watch, even though Whelan was a bit of a one-trick pony, it was a pretty good and successful trick.
Gary Sims was a childhood hero of mine. Very unreliable kick for goal from memory...I have vivid memories of my budgets containing as many dots (for points) next to his name as strokes (for goals.) Was he coaching you at Mt. Gambier?

Again from more recent times (or at least players I have seen play)...

Grant Coffee (my childhood hero !!)
Rudi Mandemaker
Adam Richardson (not the big tatoo guy from West, the Centrals FF from mid 90's)
Daniel Schell
Daniel Havelberg

From other clubs...

Brant Chambers (Sturt)
Darren Bradshaw (West)
Scott Hodges (Port)
Adam Richardson (West)
Rod Tregenza (South)
Scott Morphett (Eagles)
Mark Passador (Eagles)
Anthony Pierri (Norwood)

Too many more to list...

Being a full forward myself in my illustrious ( ) playing career, I always have a soft spot FF's
