hodges goal in 96 prelim, siren goes a minute later, was there with my cousin, she cried the entire way home, when it went through we were sitting under cover at the northern end, there was a mosh of us celebrating, unbelieveable.

Phil Gallagher kicked a pretty important one in a Grand Final

Any kick after the siren to win a game would rate as high pressure.

the Hodges goal in the 96 Prelim final was the kick of a champion

Davies in 76 Grand Final was the day he became a champion

Keith Thomas mark in 84 Grand Final defied common sense and was Brown/Riewoldtesque

Kernahan snagging 10 in a State game circa 84 (?) was incredible

Motley beating awesome Glenelg team all but single handedly in last game at Unley 85 was amazing

That last minute or so in play of the Grand Final when you know you have the premiership sewed up, just waiting for the final siren to sound...

I've had 7 of those experiences in the last 10 years and the 1st one in 2000 will always be special but they are all as exhilarating as each other...

this is a gerat thread...

as a bays supporter i have a few,

watching the Bays v Centrals at adelaide oval in Mark Mickans first year, kicking 9 goals in the 3rd quarter.

Ben Moore's goal, and the siren sounding in the Elimination Final against sturt, group hugging* total strangers on the hill at Adelaide Oval, this was my first finals win i had witnessed as a bays supporter (i'm only 27)

knowing Mouse could not lose the Magarey Medal, after walking passed a TAB and seeing him at an amazing 40/1, in july of that year, $1300 later i was smiling...

Bays v Norwood, norwood oval, peter simmons was coaching, players came* over on masse and embraced the snouts louts,

the formation of the snouts louts, we all acknowledged each other at bays games before we formed a united front,

the Prelim final win last year, standing with said group, halfway through the 3rd quarter, knowing that we are going to make our first grand final since 1992,

seeing the u19s win last years GF, likewise the Reserves premiers the year before,

leaving Norwood to 1.3 last year at norwood oval,

brett backwells goal sealing the win against strut last year in front the biggest crowd i have seen at the bay oval,

if i think anymore i'll add them...

There've been plenty for me over the past decade.

However, one, in the middle of winter at The Parade is something I will remember forever.

It was the night we'd trailed Norwood all game (I think five goals at one point) and were down by a behind at 3qt. Then kicked five goals after the game. Standing around the players' race afterwards with the Dogs supporters chanting as the players went to the rooms was exhilirating.

Another Norwood experience was the final in 1995, seeing Redlegs supporters leaving and knowing that we had made our first GF.

Of course there was that first premiership in 2000 and then there was last year, that third quarter and piling home the goals and knowing we'd won a flag that we were never supposed to get was pretty good too.

However, as a young football follower, my most exhilirating moment was the first time I went to Footy Park. Having only ever been to Elizabeth Oval prior to this, we went to Footy Park as a school group and sat high up in the stands. Walking into the stadium for the first time - a real stadium, not just an oval, was amazing.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

There are plenty including (in no particular order):

- Cornes standing on heads to take a screamer at the Parade in '77 and then slot through the winning goal (I played mini-league for Norwood that day!)
- Paul Weston kicking an 80m goal at footy park in the early '80s
- Craig Balme winning the '84 GF (IMO) by snotting Tim Evans at the start of the game
- Seeing Barrie Robran live for the first time (at the end of his career) ... the magic was still there even though he was on one leg
- Malcolm Blight when he returned to Woodville in the '80s
- the emergence of Woodville in the '86 finals and the final siren in the Prelim which stopped their amazing run
- the final siren at the '82 Prelim against Grave Danger
- the final siren at the '85 GF

... and many more.

But the absolute no.1 for me was the final siren at the '86 GF for back to back ... the day I turned 21.

Any port in a storm huh? ;) (j/k mate)

Why are so many of these moments against Norwood lol ... There's the Hodges goal of 96' Prelim, the Dogs Semi-Final win the year before that, Weston's 5 including the last kick of the game in 82' (thankfully that didn't remain a nightmare for long), Sturt's last quarter heroics at the Parade in 83'.

Straight to the fridge after recalling all of those moments.

Symo's goal in 86 was superb. The moment that has given me the most goosebumps however, is when Super ran out on to the Bay oval in his record breaking game. I couldn't help but tear up. Will always remain my favourite.

Hall to Maynard to Symo was first class. But the 15 minutes of football from Maynard in that 2nd Q of the 86 GF took the game away from North Adelaide. Max snap from a spilt mark in the North Western pocket is still the best goal i have seen, i am not bias as i wore 30 on the back. Max was flattened by Parsons from that kick. Mayneard was BOG that day.

Also a Foundation Cup game, 86ish maybe 87, Bays 10 goals down at 3Q time v Sturt. Bays 10 unanswered goals inc Murphy kick after siren to win.

I think it was James West who kicked the winning goal after the siren - can anyone confirm this?

It was half-hearted and easily ducked, but made Neil at least think twice in future.
Apart from that one I posted early in this thread, there was Ron Kneebone's first game, or one of his first few, when he ran right through big Torrens enforcer, Mick Clingly, who had lined him up and tried to take him out.

One of the great myths of SANFL football. It's right up there with the day everyone remembers Royce Hart getting knocked out in the 1969 GF and taking no further part in the game.

Just as Hart played the full match and was Glenelg's best player with well over 20 possessions, Craig Balme never hit Tim Evans at the start of the game. He was trying to shake Evans' hand and Evans reacted to it. Nothing at all in it, but the crowd reacted and the whole incident was embellished beyond belief.

Interesting to note that Sturt also made an offer to Royce Hart to play for them in the GF, but Hart decided on Glenelg because he had trained with them occasionally during the season whilst based at Woodside.
I think the $2000 Glenelg offered him was a bit better than Sturts as well.

That may be true AH (but I think there was a flurry of activity after the attempted handshake), but I was there and it was the result of whatever transpired at the start of the game that mattered. It put Tim Evans off his guard for at least a quarter and a half ... and to me was a memorable moment in GF history ;)

Agree with the Royce Hart myth though ... it amazes me how he can be remembered for taking no further part in the game when clearly he played well for the rest of the game!
