Can anyone confirm a rumor that a fight broke out on Sunday between Morphett Vale senior players during a club function at the Woodcroft on Sunday. Apparently a number of punches were thrown and players ejected to continue it outside.

Sort of. Just a couple of boys getting a little out of hand after having one too many and having a wrestle in the grass. Certainly nothing out of the ordinary.....altho saying that i think there were a few Christies boys there who came out to have a look and they seemed a tad surprised at the happenings between clubmates..!!

All that needs to happen on gandfinal day is the SFL pull their head out of the sand.

If i have a private function at any footy club and there might be a hint of trouble it is my obligation to provide some kind of sercurity. The last 2 GF at porties there was a max of 2 cops and no sercurity, i havent been to a GF at south but i would say there would be a few more sercurity there with less people.
There is always going to be some kind of drama the SFL just needs to manage it better surely with the amount of extra people at a suburban ground compared to south they can afford a couple of bouncers and/or cops at each end of the ground or at the bar checking ID.

Maybe even take a leaf out of the SANFL book and have designated family areas witch are dry zones.

Certainly nothing out of the ordinary.....altho saying that i think there were a few Christies boys there who came out to have a look and they seemed a tad surprised at the happenings between clubmates..!!

Perhaps this is an indication of why this club has been at the top for so long. Mates have a punch on, then get over it and become better mates. Swooper is right. Wasnt a club function but still in excess of 40 blokes having a beer together at the one place. If the same thing happened at most other clubs, it would divide the club into groups but this will only bring the emus closer together. So, if your looking to find a chink in the emus armour, your all just giving them more ammunition. Feel very sorry for the twisties this week. Wrong place, wrong time!

lootsy gave out what the little smart arse deserved, he threw the first one and lootsy just jabbed him bak and he fell like a bag of shit and cried , just unlucky clem (the umpy) was behind us when happened, There was a good feeling between the southern boys though on sat,just gotta get the feeling out amongst the other clubs get involved in the game,play for the love of the game with blokes you respect and play against,represent the league,yourself and importantly your club i say,and as for the brighton boys not showing up or ringing toughen up princesses ohh thats right you could of got another tan ezy session in, As for playing the game at porties or a local club agree 100% and on the other note the lovelock sheild there could be a 2010 comebak on the cards time will tell i guess i know the SFL are keen. And for who was there on sat there was a player from morphettville park 20 year old sebastian guilhas 6ft 7 giant, watch this name in league footy over the next 10 years down the bay can play the game indeed as a big ruckman.Played a handful of league games already just wanted a year away for personal reasons

Regardless what the other player did lootsy shouldnt of reacted like that. SFL were losing and the other player got under his skin. Poor performances by a so called captain.

Must be a June long weekend thing for the Emu boys. Wasn't there a similar incident at Sea and Vines last year. On the SFL game, it was good to see a not near full strength SFL team push the Amateurs. It probably highlights the excellent depth of players in the SFL at the moment. SFL has alot of things to contemplate between now and next year including: C grade comp, anymore clubs to join SFL, clubs without full juniors, the balance between Saturday and Sunday juniors, and of course Association Footy.
