I wonder how many of these clubs that bag South or their diect league club still put their hands out when South pays some money in to our comp.

Everyone is talking about guys enjoying their footy. what if these guys have signed contracts with clubs, is there a " I'm not enjoying myself " clause that gets you out of a contract these days, cause if there is i want it in my work agreement.

Why is it that everyone hates the fact that league clubs put themselves up above local comps. the reality is that the SANFL is the 2nd or 3rd best comp in the land and we in the SFL are a long long long way off that.

I Think that league clubs walk a very fine line do they let everyone walk all over them or do they hold people to account. But there is always, in every walk of life rules for some and rules for others so there is no blanket approach to letting players go or go back to local comps, it should be done on a case by case basis and what is best for the league club. if we truely think that they are letting some clubs have players and some clubs not because they want to influence the SFL. Come on you have to be kidding yourself

Smithy I thought it was quite a healthy debate with only rubbish being thrown at South as a club.The bottom line is that if enough $$$ is thrown at footballers it certainlly makes them think twice about where they want to be. Its a huge committment to play league and if you are languishing in the reserves for $70 odd dollars a game training 5 times a week there there is a easy way out.Its a problem that is going to escalate in years to come with the SANFL clubs looking to take a drop in revenue if the stadium deals goes through to Crows and Power. Please there is a lot of emotion into players leaving or jumping ship when things get hard or if they simply dont enjoy it and this forum is one way of venting the frustration. Sometimes without all the facts.

a noarlunga lad that plays for aldinga. i wasnt at the game, so i cant comment too much on what happened, but all i've heard is that he was king hit behind the play (sorry if this is wrong, and feel free to correct me, but thats just what i heard) but wish him the best of wishes and a speedy recovery.

Brighton have a clash guernsey too and we have 2 senior sets and one each for 18, 16 and 14's which enables us to have all teams on a given Saturday wearing them if necessary. Everyone at the club loves our yellow strip and we wear it whenever there is a hint of a clash and don't get too precious about it versus our main strip. We even wore it in the 2007 GF vs Morphett Vale even though there is no major clash between the home strips of MV and BB. The Bombers even wore the Port Magpies prison bars in a Prelim Final vs Happy Valley a few years back. The club wore that style guernsey back in the 70's so we chose to wear it to avoid a clash rather than wear the horrible old SFL guernsies or some other borrowed set. Bottom line is that it costs a fair bit of money and not easy to just come up with an alternate strip without sponsorship and time. Noarlunga don't have an alternate and the SFL and Edwardstown should have foreseen the clash and dealt with it long before now. In my opinion Edwardstown should be told to wear an alternate this week. Thanks Shoe Boy for acknowledging our shower apology. I heard that someone from your club felt our President was a bit dismissive about it on the day but he was actually cursing the council who were supposed to fix the dodgy thermostat that caused the water heater to switch off when the water temp got too hot. A different water heater services the home rooms so we were oblivious to it switching off again. I believe all has now been fixed.

I had a lovely long hot shower Saturday in visitors changerooms.
And also must commend Brighton on the water pressure.

Point re SA put money in our comp??? Show me the money as they say as as far as I know the SFL pays for the privilege of being based at SA to SA!

WELL THERE IS ONE IT IS CALLED QUITING AND YOU GUYS SHOULD KNOW YOU HAVE HAD 9 YTD!!!

Also your comments regarding SANFL being the 2 or 3 best comp who cares if you play in tim buck 2 or for the Crows it is still played with a ball and big sticks at either end and as long as you are happy that is the most important point!

I understand what you are saying here but South are far from a successfull SANFL Team and have got there head in the sand about how to relate themselves with the local comps

This is the third time that we have headed to the Valleys and something like this has happened, two for on field and one off. Two serious similar injuries now from on field crap. This is getting a bit old Valleys, I wonder if anyone from Happy Valley has formally apologised for their players actions resulting in another Aldinga hopeful not playing for the rest of the year?

For fear of retribrution I won't mention names, but a certain former Noarlunga big man (formerly of Hackham, which narrows it down to about 25) copped about 10 or 12 weeks in 2002 or 2003 for belting a Marion big man (previoulsy from Tailem Bend).
