Almost believed you Big Red as I haven't been around the club for the last couple weeks, BUT then you said senior players leaving for Reynella FC and it was then quite obvious it was a rumour... No chance our players would leave to go there!!!!
But keep the rumour mungering up at least it gives us all something to read and hopefully takes the attention off what Cove are doing which now finds them in the 8 and building towards September!!!

Still waiting for your Hackham to Noarlunga list Shoe Boy. I stand corrected on some and may miss a few others but here's a start from your 4 consecutive Grand Final era 2000 to 2003.

Lee, Clifton, Nyland, Nyland, Widdison, Tassone (I'm sure I missed some) throw in Comer (Cove), Hibberd (Morphy Park), McIntyre (Lonsdale). Later came some that Asert has mentioned plus Fitzpatrick. Must have been some fringe A graders/solid B graders who followed these guys across as well. My 25 remark may have been a bit off the cuff but its way more than 4.

It got you a Premiership which was the ends that justified the means, but it was amazing how much talent you lured from rival clubs.

DTH
Have you seen the size of Old Noarlunga???
FFS there is only 457 people there. Unlike Brighton/Hove /Seacliff etc where there are 100,000 people.
And don't bring up Seaford ...as all the kids there are only 12 or 13

Where are the players meant to come from???

I Think Mcintyre went from Shoes back to Lonsdale, add Schirmer & Findlay M/Vale, Russell Veenvleet C/Beach

The Nyland brothers and Widdison came from Porties at the time from memory, you cant count Comer & Hibberd as they have no relevance to the Hackham debate either. McIntyre may have played in 2000 but wasn't there after that. After Hackham folded for that time frame players had no choice but to play elsewhere and it was highly unlikely that they were going to go to morphies due to the rivalry between those two clubs.

Who really cares anyways all clubs do the same and its usually that they go in groups because they are all mates and want to play together.

DTH we had great fun with this last night at the club.
The Nyland lads go like this OsBeach/C/Beach/Pt Noarlunga/Hackham/Noarlunga now where do they fit as when Benny received his Life membership at the SFL presos it read Pt Noarlunga/Noarlunga.
Widdo is he Hackham or M/Vale?
Jodie Tassone was a McLaren Flat lad ask him? I put him in the Hackham basket
Comer is back and is close to life membership so is he Cove or Noarlunga?
We settled on 5 Hackham lads in 2001 A side.

We could go one but the question that must be asked is not from the Shoe but from where they came from!
That year was when a peg was put in the ground as we only had 2 lads Booga and Peachy that played junior footy at the club against currently 50% of the squad and the B grade close on 80%.

I think that through the 4 flags that MVFC won at A grade level recently, about 40 blokes can claim at least 1 flag and of those 40 only about 3 maybe 4 DIDN'T play juniors at MVFC.

My comments were just done to generate some chat because some on the forum may not be aware of the Shoe foreign legion around that time. Most of us realise that this was pre-minis and you had very few young lads coming through your local area so your senior players had to come from somewhere. But most mentioned were top A grade players at their other clubs and those clubs must have been spewing at the time though. The work that Mark Ireson and others did to establish your Mini's has ensured you have a wave of kids coming through and some other clubs could learn from the Shoes rather than moan about the lack of junior players in their area. Anyway thats enough of sucking up to the Shoes, the Bombers have fixed our away showers, any chance the Shoes will ever put a proper wall between the home and visitors changerooms.

Yeah shoe boy, any chance we will see any renno's done down there at Noarlunga in the next few years. With all those kids you got running around will you need bigger facilities to cater for them i.e. bigger change rooms and bigger club rooms? A nice big two story clubroom over looking the oval would be great down there with a nice viewing platform to boot.

Started the season in the 2's but good form was too hard to ignore and has played 1's for the majority. Cracking into that a grade side not easy at the moment either.

My Tips
Aldinga v Cove - No coaching problems here to win and ANDO building to September Cove by 25 goals - Ramsey 10 Goals
C/Beach v Edwardstown - Playing Coach -too old Fabian and wont work - Townies by 10 goals
Hackham v Porties - Norm to play kids and put injuries in cotton wool - Porties by 30 goals Tedmanson 15 Goals
Marion v H.V - Marion to surprise here and get close but Vikings too good but (NOT SO) Happy Valley from what I hear 3 goals
MV Park v Brighton - MVP improved but finding out by not enough Bomber on ballers to feed off MVP Ruck - 15 goals
Lonsdale v Morphett Vale - Lions always go OK against emus at the high school but a lot more class there this year - 20 goals Pollard 10
Noarlunga v Reynella - Wineys still hurting from last year, too fast and slick and will win by 8 goals - S.Dean to get BOG for Shoes
Have a good weekend
