A behind the play, gutless, cowardly elbow on a young player. Absolutely disgraceful. The villain ran from the scene like the hero that he was. Marred a windy but good day. No prizes for guessing where i was playing. I thought it was leopards that didn't change their spots, apparantely another large cat doesn't either.

Which young emu got snotted Deemu?

Heard Pollard kicked a lazy 9...how often do you boys have prezzos at the Woody?

Had to laugh when your coach said something along the lines of "This week's training will be in the boxing ring so we can win the fights as well as the footy"!

A square up for your hit on the young villain from earlier in the game, and he wasn't running away, was sent off although your umpy didnt see anything . The same umpy that went on the field from the coaches box a few years ago to knee a player in the head while on the ground near the boundary wasn't it. And whats with swinging at the runner who was trying to get his own players away from the push and shove. What is it about people in glass houses?

Well going on the posts from recent weeks you could have been playing at Happy Valley, Aldinga, Marion, Morphettville Park or anywhere else in the SFL. There are cowardly, behind the play incidents happening at almost every game each week and (big surprise here) there were also a number of cheap, unprovoked punches thrown by your own players on the weekend (well before the incident you mention in your post). I am in no way condoning what the Lions player did and honestly hope the tribunal makes an example of him as we don't need that sort of shit, both at our club and in the SFL, but don't try to pretend that some of the players at the MVFC do nothing to provoke such incidents.

As for your leopard changing its spots comment  It sounds like in your opinion, incidents like this happen regularly against the Lions. If you have any proof to back up these claims i'd love to see it. In my experience, Lions V Emus games are always hard fought (but mostly fair!) contests. Again, Morphies were too good on the day in both grades yesterday and all credit too them. On a brighter note, it was good to see the emus A grade coach and a few of their players come in for a beer and a chat after the game.

I wish the young emu's player a speedy recovery and hopefully he gets back out on the park ASAP.

A good day of footy played in all grades with a couple in it all day bar the A grade.
16 goals against 9 with Reynella kicking 8 unanswered in the second. Some good signs and footy played from both sides but again we cant put 4 quaters together and lads that float in and out of the game need to stand up for 4 quaters.

P32 how did you think big Shultz went?
I thought the battle between he and you was good all day and am sure with Comer coming in next game will take some load of the big fella.

Fish, your ridiculous attitude is the reason why your club is having trouble in getting rid of their "thug" tag. I feel sorry for the people in your club that work their butt off to clean up the image of the club, only to have it shoved back in their face by selfish individuals like the one who knocked the young emus teeth out on satday. There were clearly some people from your club bitterly dissapointed with his actions and wouldnt surprise me if he is looking for another club to play for real soon. The young emu will need some dental work but is in good spirits and his teammates look forward to him getting back on the park asap.

I agree SB was a good game of footy on Sat.Big Shultz is more than handy and looks to be one of those big hearted honest types that every team needs, thought NFC tried hard but Reynella always seem to be just going a little bit better, lots of young kids in that A grade side who are only going to get better with the more games they get under thier belts, signs of bigger and better things to come over the next few years.Thats for sure :D

I thought he did pretty well in the middle, maybe needs to just work on his positioning on boundary throw ins and around the ground ball ups, but other than was pretty good. as a bit dumb founded though why you would play him almost the whole first 3 quaters without a break and then put him in the foward 50 in the last quarter when you were going against the breeze.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

What thug tag??? We play clean and fair footy and have done for as long as i can remember. Speaking to our senior player advocate he has not had to visit the tribunal in at least 4 years. Thats a pretty clean record if you ask me? Maybe some of the regular posters on here can enlighten me to this "thug tag" ?

To rubbish our club over an isolated incident is not fair and im sure every single club has had a player act in a manner which is not acceptable. I did not see the incident and do not condone any violence but from all reports the player in question had tried to square up for an earlier action after being felled behind play?

At the halfway point of the season and only 1/2 a game and percentage out of the 8, anything but finals would be a huge disappointment for Christies considering the following draw.

BYE
OSB
Hackham
Aldinga
Marion
Noarlunga
MVP
Flagstaff
Port Noarlunga
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

We saw a couple of weeks ago what happens when a supposed power side gets sloppy against the Shoes.
Give them a couple of years and they'll be right up with the double-chance contenders.

T&C I think if you were atually paying attention, if even there, you would notice the difference between that incident and the malicious ones mentioned over the past few pages. When two players stir each other and give it to each other all day then have a few wrestles, that is alot different to a malicious king hit behind the play.

No need to cry about the little things when they both give and received the same all day. Think you may want to read some of the previous posts and realise the severity of some peoples actions compared to a harmless wrestle each way.

Watched the brighton vs morphie parks game sat and thought the umpires were good so dont no what your complaining about. They set the standard early with 2 send offs one from each side. You guys need to understand that brighton are a class above morphie parks and brighton had some big outs aswel which caused problems for brighton in the forward line. That is brightons weak link I would say. I also must say brookman did get touched up all day but no point wining ruck contests if your cant give it to your onballers which seemed to happen to m/parks a bit. Also i'm sure the council can re-design that oval to improve it knock the trees down 1 way streets at each end would be a start to provide more space.

Well i dont have footage, but i do have a decent scar... it just so happens i was playing A's vs Lonsdale some 12 yrs ago and myself ( as an 18-19 yr old) copped a very similar cheap one back then.
Having spent time away from this league since, it drew me to that conclusion.

I think you may also find, if such thuggery existed at MV, the majority of i assume would have been in the not-so successful years. It sometimes goes with the trade.
Good teams have discipline. thats what makes them good teams.
