At the end of the day all that matters is what is recorded in scorebook. Maybe next week when counting the umpire mistakes also count the mistakes that your team make, i am sure they will out weigh the umpires mistakes. Having had a stint umpiring I can tell it is always a lot easier from outside the fence, and even more so when you have a few under the belt.

Deemu you could not have been playing for morphett vale against lonsdale 12 years ago they were in division 2. Every club has some bad apples but i think you should look at this as an isolated incident. Speaking to people at the club on saturday not one person tried to condone what the young lad did. Please don't start a lonsdale are thugs campaign on one individual who has only just returned to the club after a spell at another club.

I wasn't playing for MV, and based on my experiences i had every right to draw that conclusion.

I understand what your saying Rodney yes i was there but most backman do it all the time all he was doing was keeping touch with the opponent and if a player is conscious of the ball coming down and knowing were his oppenent is without taking his eyes off the ball he shouldn't have to worry about being king hit from behind. this was very much an un prevocted attack OK nothing ended in the incident of anyone being seriously hurt a few punches were thrown nothing else but should players 80 metres off the ball have to worry that they are going to be hit whilst watching the play? It seems this is happening alot recently what is the next step?

A behind the play, gutless, cowardly elbow on a young player. Absolutely disgraceful. The villain ran from the scene like the hero that he was. Marred a windy but good day. No prizes for guessing where i was playing. I thought it was leopards that didn't change their spots, apparantely another large cat doesn't either.

A square up for your hit on the young villain from earlier in the game, and he wasn't running away, was sent off although your umpy didnt see anything . The same umpy that went on the field from the coaches box a few years ago to knee a player in the head while on the ground near the boundary wasn't it. And whats with swinging at the runner who was trying to get his own players away from the push and shove. What is it about people in glass houses?

Fish, your ridiculous attitude is the reason why your club is having trouble in getting rid of their "thug" tag. I feel sorry for the people in your club that work their butt off to clean up the image of the club, only to have it shoved back in their face by selfish individuals like the one who knocked the young emus teeth out on satday. There were clearly some people from your club bitterly dissapointed with his actions and wouldnt surprise me if he is looking for another club to play for real soon. The young emu will need some dental work but is in good spirits and his teammates look forward to him getting back on the park asap.

I don't agree with what the young lad did, most players will wear a punch in the head as part of the game and get on with it, some players will seek payback, obviously in this case it was the latter. As with the alleged Thug tag I don't know where that come from. This is the first incident I can recall in a long time.

When abouts in the game did this all happen? i didn't see anything and i don't think the umpires did either? how far behind play was this?

I'm good MatteeG but not that good. It would even test Bag the Points but should occupy his time for a while. Since we've been one division with a seeded draw we get this mid-season period of top sides playing bottom sides but it would only happen if the lower sides all happen to be the home team which would also be rare.

I happened to see the game Clopster - and yes not a bad performance by the man in mostly white, but i do recall a few occasions hearing a blow of the whistle which was quickly followed/over-ruled by a yell of "PLAY ON" which im quite sure is not out of the textbook...!!
