Bit quite in here.

:D

Game 5 Highlights

- Kobe's baseline dunk
- 16-0 second quarter run
- Kobe's ridiculous bank shot in the 3rd
- Lamar Odom's three-point shooting
- Lakers choking defence
- Phil Jackon getting a deserved record 10th ring as coach

Right, I'm off to order my CHAMPIONSHIP tee online...

Huge news this morning from the States (of course apart from Wacko Jacko's death)...

Heard on 5AA this morning that Shaquille O'Neal has joined the Cleveland Cavaliers and will play alongside the great man LeBron James !!

What a combination that will be and surely the Cavs a real chance to take the Championship next season !!

Terrific for Mills, was surprised he last until the last half a dozen picks.

Not that terrific Pup. He was expected to go late first round and get a roster spot - and whilst he will get a contract the most likely scenario for Mills now is Europe. Portland already have 2 good point guards so i cant see him playing NBA this year.

Great achievement for Mills (and Australia) considering where he has come from IMHO!

That is tough for Mills, certainly thought he'd go a lot higher.

Minnesota I feel have done well to land Ricky Rubio at 5 but am not sure why they've taken another point guard with pick 6 - they must have a trade already worked out with another team.

Well it is better than not getting selected at all. No doubt he will be happy and relieved but in hindsight a another year at St Marys may have been the best option.

Yes he is behind Blake and Bayliss but Rodriguez going is a huge bonus for Mills.

In truth once you fall below say the middle of the second round it would be better to not get drafted at all. Now a team (Portland) has his rights and can if they want to really f**k him around. They can refuse to sign him and just keep telling him every year to stay in europe whilst holding onto his rights. They would either have to agree to relinquish his rights or another team would have to trade for them. He's essentially locked into them with them having no financial responsibilities unless they sign him.

Not that it's going to happen but a Joe Ingles can now as a free agent negotiate with all 30 teams because he went undrafted. Mills can only negotiate with one and chances are they will do "a Newley" with him and just keep sending him back to europe every year whilst still retaining his rights.

Dont mean to be a sponge but just expressing an opinion. History shows that players selected late in the draft struggle to gain a spot in the 12 player roster. Will be even tougher for Mills seeing as he has gone to a team that already has 2 recognised point guards.

As Gozu pointed out Newley was drafted mid-late second round and doesnt appear to be any closer to playing NBA. David Anderson was drafted late second round and has been playing in Europe for years now. I am sure if Mills knew he would be selected in the last few picks then he would have stayed at St Marys. I hope that wherever he does play next season heears it up as i thinkhe is a very exciting talent and as shown in the olympics can hold his own against the likes of Chris Paul and Deron Williams.

That's it. Dont forget about such names as Paul Rogers, CJ Bruton and Ben Pepper.

NBA forward Nathan Jawai shot a game high 28 points but it wasn't enough as Australia suffered a 74-61 loss to China in an international friendly overnight.

Jawai, 208cm, had a monster game in his second match for Australia and connected on 11-of-12 shots to finish with 28 points and 11 rebounds, while poor perimeter shooting restricted the remainder of the side to single digits.
