I think the B graders were luckier than I were. There were bits of iron, wood and metal poles flying through the air, players were lucky they weren't decapetated!

Would be interested to hear a cove persons take on the game yesterday. Looked to me like they were totally un-interested and played with no spirit. Completely different to their performances last year....what is the reason for this...?

Who knows Mattee, will find out more tomorrow. The paper played it up a bit saying that a dozen cars were towed away, I think the actual number was 2 maybe 3.
Hopefully the B garde Porties player is recovering and wasn't too badly injured. Some very lucky boys out there.

So the game was abandoned, is there a re-match, does it go down as a draw?

On the 7 news tonight they said probably no more games until next year and may need to dig up and re-lay the oval. 20cm shards of glass found buried in the turf. Someone may have scored an extra home game or play at neutral grounds maybe. No finals there too?

Early reports are
Dig up to 100mm thick layer off the oval then re turf entire oval
No trainning (all grades inc Minni's)
No games (footy & cricket) for the rest of the year

To people involved in a club at board level know how much a home game at both minni's on a sunday means to a club
No Bar (Sat, Sun, Mon,Tues, Thurs, Frid)
No canteen
No BBQ
No gate takings

Its going to be tuff finacially for the rest of the year for the club
amongst other things, we picked up 1.8m x 1.8m Windows from the outer wing

Easly the most scary thing i've seen on a footy field unbelievable more people didn't get hurtor die.

Are there problems at the Cove? There seemed to be a few of their faithful missing yesterday (President for one).
