It appears Cove have attempted to put up some sort of fence made from star droppers and bunting(looks like 5 year old kids put it up all over the place up/down/split) from the club to the away coaches box. I was in attendance from the start of the 14 untill the B grade game and ALL spectators and officials from both clubs stood inside as if you stood behind you would see nil.

During the 16 game a Cove official (the copper in his civis) asked all to stand behind the bunting which fell on deaf ears from both Cove and Noarlunga spectators and officials. This official has rang his mates and OUR Public Servants attended the bunting drama!!! This copper has then charged a 17 year old lad for interfearing with the bunting while trying to help his mate that was on crotches with a broken leg access the bunting.
At no time was there abuse or violence from both Cove and Noarlunga spectators or officials!

This is a disgrace and abuse of power!

One can only assume that a number of your supporters would recognise coppers due to the continual contact they have when in the back of a Paddy Van. I must say though only a minority as the majority are just good footy people.

But if you are going to tell a story tell the whole story. Having watched the incident unfold like you. I believe the Cove U16 manager asked for the Cove official to ask the Noarlunga supporters mostly U18 to move back from the inter change area and at this time both Cove officials were verbally abused called such names as F------ C---- etc. This was led by an adult who I believe is your B grade ruckman, although I must say he is a better performer as the under 18 water boy than he is a ruckman. The only Cove people inside the fenced off are were the 16’s team officials.

Just how would you respond at Noarlunga if 15 or 20 people stood inside the fence at the interchange area????

The Cove official rang the SFL as he told the group he would be doing to seek clarification on the ruling surrounding encroachment on the inter change area.

The copper who rolled up to watch some footy is an ex player at the Club and was standing talking to the official and a couple of other people. The 17 year old you mention damaged temporary fencing causing $200 damage. It now all needs replacement. Apparently he was stupid enough to do it in front of the copper.

I can’t wait to hear what the Cove official thinks of your post, I thought he did well not to act in response to the filthy mouths of the few who were gobbing off.

They are not an Embarrassment not only to your club but to football in general

I reckon by opening your big mouth on here with a half baked story you are going a long way to winning some new friends at the club.

Aside from the FEW it was a good day with some good hard contested footy between all the teams.

Anyway this subject needs no more comment, lets move on and play footy.

Now here is absolute proof of how downhill the talk on this forum is getting! Read the 2 eye witness accounts of what happened on the weekend, the 2 stories are both that different its not funny......

Heard this morning that the league has decided to change the mini comp from school based 2/3 etc to age based under 8/10/12. If true this is a good move.

Also Sunday comp grand finals to be played Saturday?? Bit odd if this is true

Can anyone confirm??

Mini comp vote was very heavily in favour of 8/10/12 so it will go ahead from next year

Sunday grand finals on a Saturday afternoon/evening/night at Happy Valley under lights.

Poll was done by SFL on preferred timeslot for grand final for c's a while ago with 90% in favour of saturday evening. Not sure if the poll related to the kids as well.

Only 5 rounds to play and the 8 is up for grabs? I believe the 4 are set but in what order?

Current A grade ladder.
M/Vale 25 points 73.07%
Brighton 24 points 72.12%
Edwardstown 21 points 65.25%
Reynella 21 points 64.66%
Cove 17 points 55.47%
C/Beach 15 points 55.89%
PtNoarlunga 14 points 56.20%
H/Valley 14 points 55.83%
M/Parks 13 points 54.62%
Noarlunga 12 points 52.20%
Marion 10 points 45.80%
F/Hill 8 points 42.59%
Lonsdale 4 points 37.53%
Aldinga 2 points 23.35%
Hackham 0 points 7.83%

ROUND 16
Aldinga v Noarlunga
Pt Noarlunga V Brighton
F/Hill V H/Valley
Hackham V Cove
Marion V C/Beach
M/Park V Edwardtown
Lonsdale V Reynella
M/Vale (bye)

ROUND 17
Aldinga V Edwardtown
F/Hill V M/Vale
Hackham V Brighton
Marion V Reynella
M/Park V Cove
Noarlunga V C/Beach
Lonsdale V H/Valley
PtNoarlunga(bye)

ROUND 18
Brighton V M/Vale
C/Beach V M/Park
Cove V F/Hill
Edardtown V Lonsdale
H/Valley V PtNoarlunga
Noarlunga V Marion
Reynella V Hackham
Aldinga(bye)

ROUND 19
Aldinga V Lonsdale
C/Beach V F/Hill
Cove V Brighton
Edwardtown V PtNoarlunga
Marion V M/Park
Noarlunga V Hackham
Reynella V M/Vale
H/Valley(bye)

ROUND 20
Brighton V Reynella
F/Hill V Noarlunga
Hackham V Aldinga
H/Valley V Cove
M/Vale V Edwartown
Lonsdale V Marion
PtNoarlunga V C/Beach
M/Parks(bye)

Thoughts???? I believe the 4 to stay as is with Cove to come home with a wet sail(look at their draw) 6-11 can go many ways with Porties vunerable with still the bye to come but a couple of winable games and Valley and M/Parks the same.
C/Beach and the Shoes will finish in the 8 with no byes and games that should be won.

Morphettville Park and Port Noarlunga both put in proposals early this year for the minis to be changed to age levels, but it was voted down. A lot of clubs said that it was a good idea, but it was too close to the start of the season to be implemented. SFL said they would revisit it later in the year, which they did and this time it passed easily for next season.

The draw is a disgrace....

If I were to rate the teams based on their performances this year

1. M/Vale 25 points 73.07%
2. Brighton 24 points 72.12%
3. Reynella 21 points 64.66%
4. Cove 17 points 55.47%

11. Marion 10 points 45.80%
13. Lonsdale 4 points 37.53%
14. Aldinga 2 points 23.35%
15. Hackham 0 points 7.83%

Can't separate towns and Cove with Valley and M/Parks barely above Noarlunga who are just above Christies. Flagstaff had a punishing draw in '09.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

EV agree the draw is not the best.

As for the Shoe below M/Parks and Valley 2 sides we belted.

As I said, just above. M/Parks beat you earlier in the year and although you smashed them on your home ground, I've think they have been a little bit more competitive against the top 7 sides than the shoes.

As for valleys, well they've had a strange year. And although they lost against Shoes early on, I wonder if there struggles has something to do with adapting to a new coaching style and after most sides have played each other once, they still find themselves with more points than the twisties and the shoes.

if m/parks,c/beach and noarlunga all finish in the top 8 and play finals this season then that will prove wot a disgrace the draw is this season.if they all do id like to know who the sides are that miss out....h/valley,porties perhaps.at least with these 2 sides in finals we wont see them 20 gls+ humiliations.i wouldve thought on ability only 1 of them first 3 sides mentioned would have made the top 8.

top 8-(finals should be)
1-m/vale
2-brigh
3-towns(only coz of there draw)
4-rey
5-cove
6-porties
7-h/valley
8-m/parks,c/bch,shoes

hopefully finishes sumthn like this (although have my doubts) which i think would give the sfl a very strong finals comp.if all them 3 sides are in well it will be sh#t house.

cyclops, 20 Goal drubbings, Morphy Pk results against top sides to date, still have to play Townies & Cove.

M/Vale, yes that was a 20 goal loss
Brighton 5 goals
H/Valley 3 goals after leading for most of the day.
Reynella 5 goals, 2 goals down into last qtr.

Check m/parks run home if they make the 8 they can win the grand final! not going to happen, so would not say they have a kind draw.
Unlike Townies except for m/vale nice run home; welcome to the southern league we must roll out red carpet to all new comers!
