2nd 33:16
3rd 31:39
4th 31:00 (est) ;)
Total 128:21

Twenty one new Premiership Players for the Eagles, Twenty new Premiership players overall - Matthew Cooper of course his second.

I'm not sure about this one, but could this be the fastest to becoming a premiership player? Of course it's Paul Stewart I am talking about - just two matches and he is in a winning GF side.

Justin Cicolella is the only player to have played in all 25 finals matches since 1999. (25 is the club record for finals matches played by one player)

76 points the margin is:
Eagles biggest winning margin over Central - previous 74 points - 16.22 to 6.8 Round 8 2005.
Eagles biggest GF win - 1993 was 73 points.
Eagles 2nd biggest finals win - 102 points vs North in the 1992 QF is the biggest.
Centrals third biggest finals loss - 90 points against Port in the PF of 1994 and 85 points against Port in the QF of 1988.
Centrals biggest ever GF loss.

7.3 (45) is Centrals equal 2nd lowest finals score, 6.9 vs Sturt in the 2002 GF and the lowest is 6.8 vs Port in the 1996 GF.
The lowest score Eagles have conceded in a final against Central and the 4th lowest overall.
Centrals lowest score for the year.

4.1 (25) is Centrals lowest score up to 3 quarter time in a final.
It is also Centrals lowest 3 quarter time score against Eagles - previous was 5.4 (34) in Round 23 1999.
It's the lowest score by Central up to that point of a match since Round 10 2004 - 1.12 (18) vs Sturt.

The win has ended Centrals club record of 7 finals wins in a row.
It has also ended Centrals winning streak over Eagles at Football Park - 9 wins.

Other facts:
This year saw teams average 103.03 points per match - the last time teams averaged over 100.00 points per match was in 1993.
Eagles scored 7.5 (47) to 1.0 (6) in the 3rd quarter - in the 3rd quarter of the 2004 GF Central scored 7.6 (48) to 1.0 (6)
Eagles lost 4 matches in the minor round this year - in 1993 they lost 4 matches.
The points totals are remarkably similar to 1993 in the minor round for the Eagles:

1993: 2300 for 1717 against 57.26 %
2006: 2286 for 1715 against 57.15 % (I'm still standing by my 8.10 West score in Round 8) ;)

One other record that Leaping Lindner alerted me to:

LL: Here's a stat for you to look into Spelly......

What's the biggest turnaround from the 2nd semi to the GF. I reckon this year must go close (EG: Eagles lost 2nd semi by 36 and won the GF by 76 so that's a 112 point turnaround)

This is the 36th occasion that the same two sides have met in both the 2nd Semi and the Grand Final since 1931.

And yes, the 112 point turnaround is a new record. :)

Even better is that the previous record was in 1994 - 110 points.

The last time that four teams won one grade premiership each in the same season was in 2001:
League: Central
Reserves: Eagles
U/19: Port
U/17: West

Mark Passador now holds the club record for most goals in finals, 23; which surpasses Scott Morphett who kicked 21.
Leigh Treeby becomes the 23rd Eagles player to have played 10 finals matches or more.

How many finals games has Passador played to chalk up those 23 goals?

There was a lot of dry weather footy played this year, was 1993 a drought year as well?

I can't recall any wet weather footy in 1993, and from what I can gather overall there wasn't.

I heard on the radio Sunday, it was the Gowans twins 12th (or could have been 13th) straight Grand Final, at three or four different clubs, that would surely have to be a record of some sort, at least for twins if nothing else.
I can't imagine too many people playing in GF's for that many years without missing one.
