Well we have heard rumours that the falcons got the job done over the shoes. Can anyone comfirm?

Heard the same rumour W&D. If that is the case then i think the twisties are certainly more deserving of that spot in the 8 going on the last months form. Emus over towns by 10 goals today and that included kicking a disappointing 1.8 with the breeze in the 3rd 1/4. Towns with some work to do if they want to challenge the top sides. D Hibberd played 2's today and was comprehensively beaten gathering maybe 5 touches and no goals .

comprehensively beaten on 1 leg! kicked 1, will be lucky to play again this yr if at all... pretty disapointing way for arguably the best forward in the comp over 10 yrs to go out.

this isn't having a go at Hibberd ... BUT arguably the best in the last 10 yrs! big call, but i guess we r entitled to our opinions !!

I would like to apoligise for some comments made towards the female umpire (i believe her name is steph?) at the hackham v aldinga game yesterday.

anyone that was there, probably heard me,late in the last quater at the southern end, yell abuse at her, that was extremely out of line and uncalled for, and she, nor any umpire for that matter, deserves to be spoken to the way i spoke yesterday. i'm obviously not going to repeat what i said, but it wasn't a nice thing, and lets just say if anyone spoke to my sister like that, he wouldnt have any teeth left.

i called mr. warman this morning to apoligise to him, and to pass on the apology to steph for me, and he just happened to be with the director of umpires (or something like that) at the time, so i also spoke to him and he said he would pass on the message at training during the week.

congratulations to hackham for the win. they showed all the heart and desire needed to win a game of footy, and deserved to be up at the final siren.

just for arguments sake! in the high 90's a couple times and the 80's a couple more... back when the comp was prob more competitive too. but could argue all day!!

I'd definitely rate him top five.
By the way, the one whose name I couldn't think of to add to my list was Bomber Ryan.

Are the Bombers back ? Good win against the Flies yesterday. No Milo made things nicer. Rumour is he may be gone for season with a calf. Morphett Vale the team to beat - again. Been out to Reynella this morning and no surprise as soon as finals start the winds blow in. Bombers won the Sunday 14 & 16's but we were beaten by the Emu's in the C grade. I'm off for a few days so if you're looking for some DTH pearls of wisdom this week, you'll have to wait until Friday. Good luck for finals preparations to the clubs and teams still alive.

fair point VC ... the comp is definitely easier for the full forwards ever since the two divisions merged.

to get a ton prior to the merged comp meant u would've hadto havebeen a good forward ... not like today when you may be able to kick 1/5th of ya goalsin a match

good to see the big red muff finish of the season well with a nice bag of 10 . by my calculations that will give him 76 goals in 12 games . thats nearly 6.5 goals per game not a bad return for an old fart !!!

My point was there was plenty of opposition to the notion that Hibberd was No.1

Finals are here are my tips-edwardstown to go out straight sets seen them a few times this year and to be honest dont rate them no suprise they lost by alot yesterday u hold golding ur halfway there,from what i have seen its goin to take alot to beat emu's too many guns in my book bombers/morphies gf dont think cove can make it reynella from what i hear missing a few cause of injury are they goin to be back for finals? who i think could do a porties last year and jag an upset or two in the finals is morphie park dangerous side when they are on fire happy too see them in there ahead of shoes who after paying the big bucks for half there side and playin kids the other half it looks like a average year after getting a favorable draw look out shoes next year with some very big signings $$$$$$$ couple of players worth $500 next year should be up there, now the saints lost to porties yesterday by plenty and with panda bear out they looked very thin up forward the big V should beat them at bice hopefully saints dont do what they did yesterday and hit players from the side who have there hands full with another player very cheap hitting a player when it was one on one and just about to break up the saints player knows who he is he will get his next time,well that grinds my gears for now, p.s hibberd is no bomber ryan bomber out and out gun

He is too big too strong haha!!
It's a great return, came 3rd in goalkicking with the other 4 of top 5 coming from sides in top5!!
Based on that he would have to be the best forward in comp this year!!

Agree with Morphies for Flag. They are answering every challenge.
Not convinced Eddy's bubble has burst. The Emus humble a lot of top sides when they are "on" (look the 2008 Prelim Final). I reckon they might still be able to bounce back in the Qually. Can't see them getting past the Emus for the Flag though.
Reckon Morphett's biggest danger could come from an Elimination Finalist ---- if they can keep it going for a full month. If Cove win their way through they won't strike Morphett until the Grand Final (assuming of course Morphies win their own Qually).
Who is the most likely to "do a Port" ? (not counting Cove who would be no surprise) ---- has to be Happy Valley whose best is still pretty good. Don't forget they beat Edwardstown earlier this year.

Agreed with the calls of Bomber Ryan being a gun.

He sat on my head and took an absolute screamer up at Cobra park one day a few years back, then helped me up and checked I was OK. His exact words were "Are you alright mate, thats 100 kgs comin down on ya head"

I'll echo the call too as Morphies being the team to beat.

Main Threats for me would be the flies (dont ask me why but I reckon they have a bit left to show), and Cove if they can get the enthusiasm and confidence back.

Brighton on their day are dangerous but can they do it 3 games in a row? Towns likewise.

Think Valleys/Christies are making the numbers up, and Roos unfortunate to pull Cove first up (I think?)
