I think choking is when you lose when you are clear favourites or give up a large lead. Brighton did neither. Otherwise you can brand every club as chokers other than Morphett Vale over recent years. The Reynella veterans were the difference. Milo was a constant threat up forward and Smith and Presscott were outstanding when it counted down the stretch. P32 was also very serviceable. My only excuse for Brighton was our lack of a 70 or 80 goal forward with caught up with us late in the season. This could have been Degenhardt who kicked 10 goals in his first 5 quarters of footy for the season but broke his ankle in the second quarter against Cove in Round 2. Most of our A grade have plenty of years ahead of them and our next generation are playing in the B grade and Under 18 GF's next week so we won't be going away anytime soon.

On the so called whingeing at half-time. I challenge any Reynella person to support the actions of the Reynella player charging and knocking over a player who was running from the ground with clearly a serious shoulder injury. These actions possibly caused further damage and were nothing short of a dog act. I hope he's proud of himself.

but do you think he knew that player was injured?? dont reckon he did DTH.... a part from that the game seemd to be in good spirits. far out the mum of the boy didnt like it at all. His father also stormed around the boundry like a steam train! at one stage there was about 4 brighton officials having a word to the SFL red jumpers... what where they meant to do..?

I guess it was very similar to the Reiwoldt incident a few years back when he hurt his shoulder. Any player on the ground is basically fair game. The player that had a go at him wouldn't know the extent of the injury. But from what I saw the Brighton player ran into him...

I also saw John Schneebichler go up to the umpires as they came off the ground at half time and spoke to them, is he allowed to do that?

I did not see the alledged 'dog act' but heard some Brighton people going nuts at half time when I walked across the ground. What I did see was #40 running from the pocket un-aided by trainers looking a bit uncomfortable just prior to the eruption. Was it #40, because his 'serious shoulder injury' must have healed pretty quickly as he played a decent part later in the game

He has a broken collarbone and it was clear to all and sundry that he was clutching his shoulder in classical dislocated/broken collarbone pose. It was clearly different from Riewoldt because he was trying to beat the pain to stay out on the ground and Mal Michael and co. were roughing him up. You are not fair game when you are running off the ground clutching a shoulder. Its called "kicking a man when he is down". COWARD. Unlike you IP, we do remember the number of the Reynella player.

Shoe Boy - this is an interesting appointment, surely the previous coach had done okay with the cattle that he had and deserved to continue with the young lads. How has he taken it?? The emus had a plan and saw it through and look at the strength of them, now the Shoes have to almost start again so back to square one.

When the suggestion came up regarding a 10 year reunion for the 91 premiership side back then, was it Mitton who suggested during his tenure, he had little interest in the past or history of the club, and he was only interested in the future ??
