And what was with the ump during the 16 game overruling the goal ump wich was called a point (and clearly was) and he felt it a goal 8-}

Also make it known that Trevor Mitton has been appointed senior coach for 2010.

Shoe Boy, interesting you didnt respond when i suggested this would be the case last week??
Is he going to continue your path of junior development or can we expect several overpaid ex south reserves players running around again?

At least its not like it was 5 or 6 years ago where the leaderboard was published for each grade every few weeks - the leaders then got 3 votes every week till the season finished which makes it a bit of a joke.
Maybe its best not to actually have this award, while its great for the winner i dont think its always a true reflection of who is the best team man in the grade

agree 100%,scrap this award.wot does it actually mean to the players that win it anyway?......id say f#k all imo.

Watched both games on the weekend and enjoyed both even though the weather was crap.
Reynella looked pretty good with Smith and Milo up forward (interesting move after playing back all year) and the younger quick lads seem fit and never give up but they will probably need Bradshaw, Tilly & Farrier fit to knock off a very impressive Morphies outfit, too many tall forward options and a quick and skillfull midfield should beat the Wineys by about 5 goals - should be a good game.

Having said that pity its at South Adelaide as I am not sure if I will bother going, warm over priced beer with a crap atmosphere.
And no offence to Christies as they catered OK but why was'nt this Prelim at Noarlunga

Not just warm and overpriced, but for the last 2 years they have been sold out shortly after half time resulting in everyone changing to the more expensive spirits.

Pale ale you wont get an argument here.

As for South Adelaide this is raised every year and I for one just dont get the argument for!! the venue does not show case our comp and the fact it is the most sterile place in SA footy.

I will be attending for our 16 game and leaving straight away to the GSFL where you have a real grass roots footy atmosphere something I and others that also will be with me did not do or think off when our comp was at Porties

How would the opposition coach know who is the best "Team Man" of the opposition, they do not know the team instructions - this would be ok if it was a best players award.

Anyone catch Porter’s comments in this weeks messenger? Fair enough he picked Reynella as it is shaping up to be one of the closest GF’s in a long time, but to read that the Emu’s are showing “cracks”..?? If the Emu’s are in fact showing cracks where does that leave his Vikings, fresh off a near on 10 goal prelim final thumping..!! Emu’s also worked against the wind for 3 quarters, I would say Porters coaching tactics have some “chasms”. Does he know he has lost 40% of the playing group..?? Will be an interesting off season for the Vikings..!! Oh, and all the screaming in the world pre-game and at half time doesn’t turn OK footballers into stars..!! I am told the Emu’s could hardly hear their coach due to his screaming. Massive doubts on his coaching ability internally and externally IMO.

Can anyone from Hackham (HH, HH3) confirm that young Hawks star Blake Mosar will not be at the club next year and is considering a move to Kangarilla in the Hills Country league? And will also be taking afew of his mates with him? Would be a massive blow to the Hawks if this were to be the case.

And as with Shoe Boy, I too will be heading down to the GSFL Grandy after our 18s play in the GF, simply because it actually represents grass roots footy. Something I never would have considered if our GF was still at Porties.

I dont know that Porter cant coach. He has taken Valleys to a prelim from straight sets in 08. They have won 2 finals. Im sure his comments to the messenger were spur of the moment and really just off the cuff. He can coach and has done a good job at a club that is in need of a rebuilt. I would have thought he achieved beyond the talent he has available to him.

Noarlunga is a great venue and should have been used for prelim. Aldinga should only have one final with the rest at Noarlunga, Pt Noarlunga and Christies.
If the SFL insist on using SAFC ground for the GF they should let cars in so that it resembles a typical SFL match day atmosphere. Don't tell us that Ed Crisp won't let them. Tell SAFC that if they want us to have the GF there we want the cars in. You will get a bigger crowd in that will cover extra security needed to search cars for grog.

Dont know what would be more disappointing- Mosar moving or the fact he may be moving to Kangarilla!

I cant believe people will be foregoing the A grade GF this week to watch another league. Of course the GF would have a better atmosphere at Porties but as i have said in the past since playing at South there has been little to no crowd trouble which is why it was moved in the first place.

Think this will be the closest GF we've had in many a year. Reynella have been undermanned in their past 2 losses to Morphies and with Earl at the helm they might just have the advantage in matchups and knowledge of the opposition. Of course this could be counter-acted by the fact Reynella have had to come from behind (I'm going to overlook the obvious chance for a gag here) in very tough games over the past 2 weeks and are coming off a 6 day break.

I suppose if everyone on here agreed to meet on the outer wing at 1/4 time we could instigate some sort of SA Footy brawl - all in the name of bringing GF's back to Porties of course.

im with you swooper -. the crowd might be all RFC and MFC at the end of the day.
huge game - reynella will go in as roughies, but they now have the belief, which could have been lacking in recent years.

So shouldnt the club of the year be judged at the end of the year.

Z.C dont forget Reynella have three teams in on saturday (surely that makes them deserved club of the year!)

Who would be number 1 on your hit list swooper? I wonder if the mexican would come out of hiding and face some of his nemisis. it could be a good old "mexican standoff". ;)

Can see where your coming from now flyer but club of the year is determined by the end of minor rounds (apparently) and this is what the ladders looked like. I think the senior grades speak for themselves there. Who knows.

I guess it means stuff all in the end. everyone knows what every club is after and its all anyone remembers for years to come.

................MVFC............Reynella
A grade........1 ..................4
B grade........1 .................6
C grade........1 ...............no team
U18s ...........5 ............... 4
U16s ...........2 ................ 5
U16 Sun.......6 ................ 3
U14s ...........6 ................. 2
U14 Sun.......6 ................ 5
