Obviously Saturday U 14's is weighted heavily in the Club of the Year voting. And as for the GF, no drunk 16 year olds fighting and paying for your drinks and entry means no atmosphere? Maybe if you whingers went there might be some.[/quote]

Looks like if Hotdogs and Mexican end up there we could have some blews between people double the 16y.o age group.
Although i think last time HotDogs was seen at a SFL Grand Final he was given a flogging on the field - he would be hoping this time it doesnt happen off the field!

You guys moaning about taking the GF back to Port Noarlunga must be the same guys who get there early enough to get a decent park on the outer wing, bring your BBQ, ciggys and hooch, and be so out of it by 12 noon that you wouldn't even remember any of the main game. Throw in a scuffle with some other clubs supporters, then go home home and kick the dog and belt the missus. Just another day in the life I suppose.

What about the area on the clubroom side of the ground which is the least spectator friendly area of all SFL grounds. And what if it rains. Absolutely nowhere to stay dry and still watch other than the car. I was at Porties last Saturday and it is nothing special with no great atmosphere. Yes, if you can get your car on the outer wing it is a good spot to watch but thats only a small percent of the total crowd. Last year at SA was surely the best crowd ever at a SFL GF, obviously helped by the Cobra faithful who clearly outnumbered the Emu support.

Noarlunga is the best finals venue but not big enough complex to cater for a GF. GF day has outgrown every club ground including Porties. It is a shame that SA is the poorest SANFL venue and somewhere like Glenelg Oval would be so much better but with most of our clubs in the SA area and SFL headquarters also being there makes it hard.

Stop whingeing, turn up, and help make it a fitting GF day.

DTH

Three Cheers for DTH
Here Here well said.

GF day is not about how much cheap booze you can throw down it is about celebrating the best two teams fighting it out for the ultimate prize.

As such this should be played for on the best ground available after all it is about the players not the boof head supporters whingeing about the price of booze or anything else.

May the best team on the day win.

DTH you are spot on.

Last years GF had a fantastic atmosphere.

For the players the surface is fantastic at Souths as well as the Change Rooms.

Isn't the GF about the players.

It's nice to feel some love lads. :D

Weather is looking good just hope the wind stays away. My tips.

Under 14 - Ralph's Commando's (Happy Valley) to win. However they will never forgive Millman's Cobra's for ruining what they thought was their destiny of an undefeated season. Expect them to arrive at ground at 6.00am. This mob are as intense as it gets for Under 14 level.

Under 16 - Porties. Best side since May. Did lose to Shoes by 10 goals early in season however I believe strengthed since the SANFL Under 16 comp ended.

Under 18 - Bombers. Only 6 or 7 lads who progress to Seniors next year so a young group but hugely talented and should be suited to the big ground.

B Grade - Bombers. Beat Reynella by 12 goals in last minor round game and both sides haven't changed too much since then.

A Grade - Emus. Reynella have had 3 really full-on finals and I can see them running out of puff a bit like Brighton did in 2007 after half-time. Caught Bombers off guard a bit last week with McKeough and Smith returning and playing forward so Bishop will be prepared for most of what Earl throws at him.

How do Morphett Vale actually cover those two blokes if they were to play up forward? I just don't know if M/V have the back line talls unless they perhaps push Joraslasky back. Smith will go on Proctor probably again, so who will cover McKeough? Who will cover Semple or Tilly if he plays?
Too many options if you ask me. I think Reynella need to win the mid field and they win the game. Let the Baylys and Beeching control the game and the Emu's win.

I'd be surprised to see Milo start forward, especially after he was BOG playing CHB earlier in the year against M/Vale.

Should be an interesting evening at the Earl household tonight...what do you think the dinner conversation will entail?
Is Daniel any chance for BOG tomorrow? Must be a big show for 40+ touches if he doesnt have an opponent 8)

Thats what makes this such an intruiging game. The same question can be asked of Reynella. Who have they got to match up on the emus tall key forwards. Pollard, Beeching, Joraslafsky, Ellison and Pitman all six footers that can take a grab. How can you stop all of them.
Will be interesting to see how both sides line up.
I cant wait to see the game. Its gonna be a ripper.

very interesting comments by all - where anyone will line up is a mystery. reynella has a much more functional forward line now, semps and tilley, proctor have been good all year - it just depends on who will join them down there...? maybe a few players will be thrown around all day, trying to catch the other off guard.

also will P32 follow the big man around again? the problem with this is luke rucks, it will take him away from CHB. I also like the D.Prescott Vs Pollard match up - should be a cracker again

I'm not sure that Earl will play Milo down forward!

Milo has played well down back majority of the year and David of all people would know that if Milo plays forward that Smithy would take pretty easy care of him similar to 2005 & 2006 when Earl was coaching on the other side.

The benefit to Reynella is that they have an ex MV person coaching them and with that comes the knowledge of players!

A big mental challenge for Reynella to get over, 30 odd years of pressure would be mounting on players & coach!

I tip the Emus, in a close one for 3 quarters and MV winning the last!

Should be a great day!

I dont think either team is going to catch the other one out with a surprise matchup. 3 Very close games this year mainly due to the fact that these teams lineup on each other very well. In Morphies 2 wins the difference has been Reid Beeching. Reynella will need to find a way to stop him to win the match IMHO.

I think Prescott will take Pollard again, the other match ups who knows. From memory Ciampi lined up on Reid and Farrier on Pittman. I would chuck Farrier on Beeching as he would have to be one of the better defenders going around. Your not going to stop Reid, just try and minimize the damage he does.
Cale has been big over the last few games for M/V, so you are right in saying he is a key match up. I think in the first meeting Milo matched up on him and was BOG on the day, maybe he will start in the back lines again. Who knows!

Gona be a good GF. I think MV have the quality all over the ground. Reynellas last 3-5 dont have the same quality as MV. too many stars in the emus line up for me! MV by 35pts

Think you'll find gaskin was his nemesis in those days. Will be won in the middle i reckon, with both forward lines looking potent on paper. Reynella had a tough month and spent a lot of emotion too. Emus will be fresh and confident and will win by about 5-6 goals.
