What about the area on the clubroom side of the ground which is the least spectator friendly area of all SFL grounds. And what if it rains. Absolutely nowhere to stay dry and still watch other than the car. I was at Porties last Saturday and it is nothing special with no great atmosphere. Yes, if you can get your car on the outer wing it is a good spot to watch but thats only a small percent of the total crowd. Last year at SA was surely the best crowd ever at a SFL GF, obviously helped by the Cobra faithful who clearly outnumbered the Emu support.

Noarlunga is the best finals venue but not big enough complex to cater for a GF. GF day has outgrown every club ground including Porties. It is a shame that SA is the poorest SANFL venue and somewhere like Glenelg Oval would be so much better but with most of our clubs in the SA area and SFL headquarters also being there makes it hard.

Stop whingeing, turn up, and help make it a fitting GF day.

Brilliant post DTH!!

To hear players/supporters from our league say they are going to the GSFL gf is a disgrace if you love the GSFL so much then sign your clearance forms and play there!! Get over the fact that the GF is @ South and support our great league that we are involved in.

I loved GF day @ Porties as much as the next guy but the facts remain that crowd numbers are up and crowd violence is way down so we will not be seeing a change anytime soon. The atmosphere on the hill last year was electric!

Going to be a tight match saturday [-o< and the Morphies Machine (unbelievable effort for 6 straight GFs)will be fresher but Reynella have something special about them this year that they have lacked in previous seasons. Milo is one man who could turn the match Reynella's way so ill stick my neck out (and go against any logic) and tip them by 7 pts.

Just hope the umpires put away the whistle and let the game flow, any free's should be hard earned. Does anyone know who is officiating this year?

Which would suggest you aren't involved enough to know anything, how many people other than the people directly involved know exactly what a player is on? It is all speculation but the fact that Moore and Butcher* played 1 year and left would suggest the almighty dollar had a fair bit to do with their "loyalty".

Not sure what you mean by that as they have still felt the need to recruit "guns", all but 1 player in the Emus lineup tomorrow will have played juniors at Morphett Vale.

a flowing game of footy is great yes, but why should the umpires change how they officiate the game just because its a grand final. Everbody asks conistancy of them throughout the year, and you ask them too change how they umpire, on the most critical game of the year. does that make much sense? let them umpire the game and thats just enjoy the footy!

Why are you all bitchin about coaching roles? The way I look at it is if you want to coach and you don't get the job at the club you want you try somewhere else. Continue to improve and if the chance comes up you return. Doesn't mean you dislike your club any bit but you just want to coach simple I would think. Also if that club wants to give you good coin to do it you don't knock it back.
Now with the gf result- I am predicting Morphett Vale to win and win well lets say 10+ goals. Reynella were helped out by the poor conditions last week. Don't take offense just my opinion.

Weather is looking good just hope the wind stays away. My tips.

Under 14 - Ralph's Commando's (Happy Valley) to win. However they will never forgive Millman's Cobra's for ruining what they thought was their destiny of an undefeated season. Expect them to arrive at ground at 6.00am. This mob are as intense as it gets for Under 14 level.

Under 16 - Porties. Best side since May. Did lose to Shoes by 10 goals early in season however I believe strengthed since the SANFL Under 16 comp ended.

Under 18 - Bombers. Only 6 or 7 lads who progress to Seniors next year so a young group but hugely talented and should be suited to the big ground.

B Grade - Bombers. Beat Reynella by 12 goals in last minor round game and both sides haven't changed too much since then.

A Grade - Emus. Reynella have had 3 really full-on finals and I can see them running out of puff a bit like Brighton did in 2007 after half-time. Caught Bombers off guard a bit last week with McKeough and Smith returning and playing forward so Bishop will be prepared for most of what Earl throws at him.

5 out of 5 mate the only thing you got wrong was the 14s
let them have a sleep in 6.45am report

The thing that took it's toll on the wineys is that they didn't want the ball for 2 and a half quarters. Looked like they waited for Morphies to make mistakes, not go and get the ball themselves. Most of the 3rd quarter they were all over the Emus but could only score a few goals. As a neutral supporter it seemed the Emus had the umpires on their side early, but Reynella didn't help themselves. The BOG Bayly No. 3 dominated the last quarter, the other one No. 13 stop diving everytime you get near the ball. Morphies way too good on the day. In the presso's they mentioned quite a few first time Premiership players, looks like they will be up there for a while.
