went to the GF on saturday. well done the winning sides. watching three and a half games makes for a long day but overall standard was pretty good, played in good spirit and good to watch from an outsiders point [ would have been better if games were closer, but no team "threw in the towel "]. top job by United, oval was in great condition, catering was very well done [the people in the canteen deserve a medal ].
very enjoyable day , thanks to all involved

Stating the obvious BBT, players were hardly picked on their name as you inferred in an earlier post, team was picked on fitness and form only, which is why it what makes it such a great effort with 3 of our normal starting 18 not able to crack it (Joel Montgomerie, Robert Montgomery and Drew Vlasscoe). Couldnt be prouder of the lads!

Who is the fukwit that painted our oval on Monday??? Writing with chalk on the verandah is one thing as its harmless and can easily be rubbed off (which it has been). Damaging the oval by painting it is another thing all together. I bet you didn't do it to your own oval  . If you guys are really that desperate to get "MFC Premiers 09" written on an oval, then I will organise Pym's Rural weed control to write the same thing on Mallala oval in round up. That'll learn ya's. Wankers!

Yeah, that's no good MC. Meanwhile, maybe Hazbeen could fill us in, if he knows, of the goings on at Peckerland over the weekend? I hear some players have been kicked out of the club as a result of some dust-ups, which I thought was standard practice, but apparently some bikies were involved as well? Apologies for the vagueness, but hopefully someone has more details! Hazbeen???

Oh and congrats Swamp on the weekend! :-bd

MC it will do nothing to your oval mate it wasn't round up.. maybe you could wait a little bit of time and then just cut it.. should do the trick.. apparently grass grows.. and mallala did it to our oval on the centenary game and the following game against united.. it's all a bit of fun mate no damage at all...

BBT i think it would have been a huge risk to play rob mont as he hadn't played in a month and trained once in that time on the thursday and hopefully he can see that, drew was a bit unlucky as his injury didn't prevent him in anyway(few teeth knocked around) and brad had trained for 2 or 3 weks before the game and played b grade in 2nd semi gettin best on ground so i really don't see the argment that his name got him in..

Turn it up MC your speaking as if it was a huge thing written, over most of the oval, it was about 2 metres in length and done with a hand held spray can, which like LPP said will probably be off within a week or less with all this rain around. All a bit of harmless fun my good friend. All your premiership photos are still on your clubrooms walls untouched and also nothing was stolen from the scoreboard, all of which has happened at Mallala in recent times and the culprits are pretty consistently linked :? . A bit of paint is hardly a big deal.

Any news on player movements for 2010. I know it is a little early but is there any retirements, players leaving, players coming home etc that people know of already.

I have heard the whisper that Josh Hollitt maybe back in the magpie guernsey next year but I will admit that it wasn't a real reliable source. Maybe SD would be better informed

Wasn't around, was enjoying the hospitality of old team mates at Pie Land on the night and had a work trip on Sunday.

it does have a bit to do with your name. looking at previous premiership photos on saturday night it seems you don't have to play in the gf to get into the photo. have a look at the 07 photo i don't belive one bloke played in that game

Why would anyone take a cricket shield on a footy trip? :? You realise that allegations like that include the Donkey as he is part of the cricket club (footy seasons over Donkey so welcome back to Long Plains) ;)

The photo under Moon Units name is the last photo taken of that shield. I think you will find that it was Hamley Bridge who lost the trophy, so can't blame United for taking that.

As for the premiership photos that was done by someone who is NOT a member of our club. Hasn't been for about 3-4 years. As for the scoreboard I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.
