Gilly would have played the majority of the games in the A's last year. Certainly still hits the ball alright. As for if he'll be keeping all year, remains to be seen.

Back in the day, he was a gun keeper, so I have no doubt he has the ability, just whether the body holds up.

No doubt he is a good keeper and his ability to hit a big ball is very good. I wasn't sure as he didn't play much last year whether he was playing the whole year or just the one dayer.

Think you will find Gilly would have only played 4 maybe 5 sect 1 games last season. Won't be regularly available for us this season either. The keeping stocks are not high at the ramblers currently and it doesn't help when you keeper doesn't make up his mind where he's playing until not long before start of season. We will train up one of our other lads to have a go.

While the mighty ramblers are taking on Sheidow I'm sitting in a hotel room in Mason, Ohio where it's pissing down with rain and tomorrow will play footy at the national USAFL carnival. Be back in time to take on WYC of course. Hope the Lads win the first couple as I believe we will come home strong after Xmas with some tough games shortly.

Based on very little my ladder prediction is:

ICC
Keswick
WYC
Ramblers
Plympton
Glenelg
Sheidow
Coromandel
Westminster
Morphys
South Road
North Haven

With the Ramblers bowling attack to come good by finals and rip thru to a GF win. If we can bowl oppositions out for 100 runs we will be a chance!

Player of the year Sampson again.

Will email those to Kingy. Everyone else should have followed CK's lead and posted before the first game.

Coro Ramblers II would be kicking themselves.

Having us (NHCC III) 8/77 chasing 199. Their captain left at drinks (20 overs). Our no3 and no10 batsman to put on 130 runs and win the game! Their skipper will be spewing when he finds out!

Sheidow over Ramblers by 1 run!

Not the best standard of cricket to be honest but still a good game on what can be said as a weird deck. Sheidow hit 149 with Mal and Peewee looking good up top then a colapse through the middle overs then to have Nealy 31 and cookie 30no bring us home well.

Then we were all over them until roseboy came to the crease and hit the ball beautifully hitting 38 quickly. They had a bloke leave for hospital mid way through copped one to the nose and with 12 to win and what we thought was the last wicket he returned only to be given in the last over 1 run short.

Good to win but we know we got out of jail today and we have a lot of work to do. Also heard Westminster knocked off WYC chasing 150 heard WYC where 8 for 100 after 10??????

In what has been described to me as a poor standard section 1 game Sheidow has beaten Ramblers by 1 run with an lbw to end rambler's innings and the game. May well be a loss that will haunt the ramblers for the rest of the season but hopefully fires the boys up a bit. Roseboy with 38 will surely have a promotion up the order to perhaps 1 or 2?

WYC got a touch up by Westminster today. They bowled, batted and fielded better. As AF said about his sides loss it may well be one that comes back to bite us on the bum. Harvey and Hopkins bowled well taking 3 and 1 respectively and the rest of the bowlers being pretty expensive and not bowling well. Batting was woeful to put it nicely. Benny Mac hit 47 with 4X6 and 5X4 and Robbie hit 20 odd but overall a very poor performance with the bat. We certainly have plenty of work to do but hopefully we don't play that poorly again for a while.

Any other scores?

Tight_lines summed up the game pretty well. My take on it was that it was a low standard section 1 game by both sides. Our fielding was atrocious to the point of it being embarassing. 3 easy catches went down and
that probably helped Sheidow get an extra 20-30.

Our top 5 or 6 struggled big time. Sheidow with all their youth bowled well and were backed up magnificently in the field. I don't think I saw a dropped catch - so when you're a batsman in bad form, having no luck sure doesn't help.

It was a heart breaker for me personally with how the last wicket fell - 2nd ball I think of the last over and we needed 1 to tie, 2 to win and the umpire makes such a big call as giving an LBW. I'm not questioning it or anything, just frustrating. I really did think we were going to pull one out of the bag. Having said that, we didn't deserve it. Congrats to sheidow park, they played the better, more consistent cricket.

Good thing you didn't see ours then. We took a couple of rippers but dropped some easy ones as well as our ground fielding which was poor to say the least.

Not worried if that performance isn't matched again. As i said earlier we are a very young side so we will be inconsistent but today was very poor. As you stated plenty of time to change it around though.
