Not the best deck thats for sure but a lack of footwork cost alot of our wickets including my own. Hoping to get another hit this week and make it count.

Fair enough. Good luck for it mate.
Sarge, can u shed any light on why Mal batted at 7 or 8 scoring 41 not out. i hear its to give the youngers one a go, but surely havinbg u and fordy out, that the younger fellas are already gettin a go and u need someone to bat around! i was astounded to see him bat so low.
However great fight back by sheidow with keith and mal getting u a respectable score!

CK i had him at 5 on the weekend and he said that he will bat 8 and was keen to sit back and see how us younger blokes handle it obviously not to well. Not ideal but he always has alot of feed back on how we should react to certain situations and wants us to learn and work on our mistakes.
Saying that nothing wrong with South Roads attack they didnt have an express bowler just bowled in good areas all day and moved the ball around just enough to have alot of us in 2 minds. Slow out field as the top dress settles so still not as bad a score as it looks we are still very confident going in even tho we maybe 2 bowlers down this week.

Re: Adelaide Suburban Cricket Association 2009-10
I think South Road may shock a few top sides throughout the year im not sure on their batting depth but with maybe Krutli and Hamish Hartlett set for a few cameo matches even May they are certainly still a decent side.
Williams and Stanley bowled well with the new ball but more so Adam Hartlett, Virtue and Petersen just kept putting the ball in good areas after we finally saw the openers off so there was no lapse in pressure against us.
What are your thoughts on Harvs Ck or Bloods will he be in strife after the weekend would had been interesting watching as a neutral saturday.

No problem with Harvey at all TL. The umpire took offence to someone calling a batsmen a midget, which is fair enough and that is where it was left. He did bowl very well again though.

I watched May bowl against North Havens B's the other week.
He wouldnt trouble many batters in A grade I wouldnt think!
Maybe if he played turf but not on mats.

Hamish wont play a game. If he does i would be very suprised because he ahs told me personally that he isnt!!
With stanley and peterson, plus Adam hartlett (who made 90 against us a couple years back aswell) they have a decent bowling attack .. they are definitely no walk overs!!!
TL, harvs barely did anything wrong, he jsut called the bloke a midget, the umpire didnt like it (even tho our bloke got called a dickhead from the sidelines and he took no action). It was left at that. Arren has bowled extremely well as his figures suggest. He has been very unlucky not to get a five fa yet! 17 overs 2/34 was extremely good. He was very good in the field, aswell as the encouragement all day! Valueable addition to WYC thats for sure! And with him batting at 9, we are confident that he will be the best number 9 and the most damaging in the comp by a fair way (besides when tonkesy plays us at home

Thats fair enough he was saying that the umpire had him on report didnt know what could come out of that. And a few of their boys where saying Hartlett will play a couple but obviously not doubt he would find time soon.

Can we have a gentleman's agreement that non-clever sledging is disallowed? It's so freaking boring hearing rubbish like someone being too skinny, too fat, too short, too tall...
I'm all for clever stuff and I think it should be encouraged.
For non-clever rubbish (eg "midget") - take 'em before the Association on a charge of "Mundane Sledging" with the punishment being you owe a carton to the opposing team...

On something as subjective as what is or indeed isn't "clever sledging"who would possibly be able to decide what is and what isn't?

Re: Adelaide Suburban Cricket Association 2009-10
The way around the 'subjectivity' is to get a senile old man like Booney to make the decision on all occurances. Consistency should remain even, and if we get all of the ASCA senile old men to create a flow chart to help him out, we could possibly turn it into a relatively firm and rigid process.
I suggest Booney put a taskforce together of all the 'ASCA senile old men'...
We look forward to the flow chart, Booney

why aren't "Umpires" a team? they need support to

The best sledger I have played with is Karl Gill - a master of getting inside the head of a batsman. Unfortunately he gets inside our heads too and we had to play with him every week.
Modern technology is a wonderful thing - I'm flying between NY and LA and I can browse the ASCA forum.
C'mon Ramblers, must get up this week.

Have heard it's a tie this week between Ramblers and Plympton. Would be nice to see the boys win a close game sooner or later....

Interesting start to the year for you guys there AF. Must have been some interesting overs at the end of your last two games.
WYC ended the day about 17 overs early on 9/310. Pressy made another ton ending up with a well put together 106 and Scott Luders notching up his first half century with a quick fire 55. Lots of 10-30's as well. Good to be on the winners page again.

Yes, A tied game at Plympton, 169 a piece.
Would love to see how the Ramblers would go without Justin Calderwank. He bowled all but 3 overs from one end!!! Now that's having faith in your bowlers as a skipper......
