How big an asset was the D Train this year Ace? I noticed he seemed to kick a few bags.

Is Brandt staying on?

Yeah he was always in the goals thats for sure :D Look he's a character, good footy brain, and lives for footy. His style of play didnt seem to fit in early in the year but to his credit he definately made it work for the later 2 thirds of the season and was a bit part of the team. He also did a few extra things off the field to try and help get the boys up and going. Its dissapointing he's left the club after previously agreeing to stay on for 2010 although he was probably always going down the coaching path eventually.

Yeah big Brazz will be behind the reins again this year.

Please don't call me names. Thank you.

I base my comment on the fact that I've seen most of Hummocks' games last year and from an outsider it seemed to me that everything Thomas suggested was done by Brant. On the field it looked like he ran his own show and he was not answerable to the coach. I would say that Hummocks will be better for the experience and will play more as a team next season.

Do you have ideas on new recruits to replace him?

Great appointment by United with Optiz back at the Helm. I think Trav will be the long term, great bloke, a good coach. Now the kiddies are a bit older I am sure he will now have the time to take the Tigers top.

So I guess that means that Brazz's application for the South Gawler coaching job didnt work out the way he would've liked

Trav Opitz to coach United........hhmmm interesting one, but I'm glad the club has put faith in one of their own again. Always thought he would end up coaching but I didn't think he'd be at the helm at United again. He's obviously been developing his coaching skills since his last crack at the top job MC under the guidance of the great man M. Trussell, surely Trussell would be listed in a succession plan at the club to take over in a few years :D

Dan Thomas coaching athelstone is an interesting one. Great player but one feels he didn't show all his cards at the eagles. My mail was a certain bloke named Rossco Wait is being targeted as the Raggies heir to the throne. This would be a good decision as he was the assistant last year , a very clever man and knows his shit inside out and has plenty to offer. Was talking to a hummocks stalwart at the end of the minor round this year and he didn't seem to rate Dan Thomas. Is that an all round feeling at the club ace? Either way the tigers are glad to see the back of him, he destroyed any hope of the tigers making the finals this year.. Rumour has it the tigers could be chasing a certain couple of players from the raggies . Sit tight, the challenge is on to topple the maggies!

This has been evident at one club he's coached, Seaton Ramblers. Didn't show much there after a couple of years as understudy to Dwayne Massey at PHOS Camden

Sure did at St Pauls, not aware of any other, but applies for every job that's going.

Dr. Pink, my apologies for the unnecessary use of “brain freeze”, perhaps I could have rephrased slightly and stated that I believe in this instance you are suffering a “Brain Freeze”. A coach that didn’t take on board what his senior players suggest would not be of value to the club. I cannot think of one instance where Thomas disobeyed an instruction from the coach or made moves for him (any more than when generally happens on the field anyway). I appreciate your opinion but to say Thomas coached the Eagles is ridiculous. What I do agree with is that we will be a better team next year and yes plenty of ideas for recruits but not opening my trap this early!

Sammy Dribbles, opps Dr Pink, there I go again, Sam Gribbles, please refer to my comment on Thomas above. Good luck to United and their new coach ;)

Swamp, I’m not sure if you would understand being a professional student and all :D , but, when some one has a job for 12 months, and has not yet received an extension on that contract, they would be stupid not to apply for anything and everything to ensure they were not left without a position the following year if their contract was not extended.

Razzman, Thomas missed one training whilst interstate will SANFL commitments, seems his schedule must have opened up.

Have I missed anyone?
