He is a quality finisher.. if he has space.
SFL football does not allow to much time.
But I think any team would like an ex AFL listed player.

spot on KD. you dont get alot of room on lots of grounds in the SFL, but finishing is what he is known for. He should kick plenty as a small forward.

Most sensible Clubs would be enjoying the summer - 60 on the track in November is good but 60 on the track on a wet night in July is so much better...

After the season we had last year it is top motivation for this year and yes pale that is what u want but 60 to a first training mid November is just the start of the falcons soar. Last year we had about 15 to our first session to this year 60. There is alot of excitement and enthusiasm we've acknowledged that things must change and pretty much everything has from last year. Rama is very well respected at our club and won't put up with sh1t exactly what we need

Question? was golding doing that bad of a job? surely not
Question?who will be more disappionted the edwardstown faithful or the boys club we call the SFL board.me thinks the SFL board.Geez the towns drop down the ladder how the hell are they going to attract PHOS, Plymton etc to join the SFL.Good luck to the maroon knobs.

Golding good player average coach! Lets Friendships get in the way of whats best for the team!
I hear that e-town took to long to make a decision on a coach and therefore players took up other offers!

Hi guys,

Long time reader - first time poster.

I thought I'd try and spark some discussion with a look at how the SFL sides might shape up for 2010.

I know there is still a long way to go until the season kicks off and nobody knows how sides will line up in round 1, but here goes ...

EMUS - can't help but think they might drop off the pace - only slightly. Will definitely still finish the season top 4 but not convinced they will go top. Their 18's and B's seem to have dropped back a rung or two on the ladder in the last year or so. May not be the pure quality pushing through to the A's from below this year. Core group still awesome and always likely to snare a couple of guns wanting to come home. I just think they will drop off a bit while the other teams around them will continue to improve.

WINIES - no guesses as to where my allegience lies. Fair to say that we would have been expected to go backwards last year after players leaving but Early turned things around from the moment he walked through the doors at Winefly Park. The senior group will only improve with the great man at the helm.

BOMBERS - the team to watch. 18's and B grade pure quality and A grade dominant for the best part of the year. Will also improve.

VALLEY - funny year last year. Looked like sh*t at times but generally came together at the business end. B's and 18's no longer dominant sides. I reckon they'll just miss the top 8.

COVE - disappointing last year. Who knows what they'll do this year. Will they be motivated to turn return to the form of 2008? I think they will be around the mark again.

TOWNS - if Reynella are anything to go by, EFC will only improve once Dave Evans has left the joint. Not sure what to make of whispers about players leaving. If they want to go, let them go. Rebuild with those who want to be there. I've heard nothing but good things about the new coach. Will be in bottom half of top 8.

$HOE$ - looks like the $$$$$ are back out and the short term gain is back on the agenda. Difference between top 8-10 players and the rest is too great to seriously contend. Will finish about 5th.

ROOS - may struggle with Big Seb heading to the Eagles. Still a good chance for the lower part of the top 8.

SHARKS - Brad would have been devastated with the way last season finished up. May improve slightly but I doubt it. Definitely bottom 4.

HAWKS - improving. Still bottom 4 but slowly heading up the ladder.

MARION - nothing but respect for Ex but I reckon his gig is just as hard as the jobs at the Hawks and Sharks. A few good, old blokes last year made them look better than they were. Bugger all coming through from B grade. Not sure about 18's - my memory is they struggled big time. Will also be bottom 4 I reckon. Bring back Nobesy????

FALCONS - always underachieve. Quality kids but never translates to senior success. Will finish somewhere between 8 and 12.

PORTIES - similar story to Marion but their quality at the top end is a bit better. Will probably finish about 10.

CHRISTIES - will probably continue to improve. 18's, B's and A's all improved last year - which is a good sign. Won't be a serious contender but will finish in 8.

LIONS - See Marion - will finish bottom 4 or thereabouts

I think that's everyone.

Ladder at end of minor round will be something like this:

WINIES
BOMBERS
EMUS
COVE
SHOES
CHRISTIES
TOWNS
VALLEYS
ROOS
FALCONS
PORTIES
MARION
LIONS
HAWKS
SHARKS

Thoughts????

Good to see you on the site, RFC
I guess you are just another of the underachievers from The Wineflies.

Well done, Yetti. No denying '77 was a long time ago.

Bottom line is that, when it counts, we have not been good enough but, with Early in charge, we are gathering momentum and very keen for a crack again in 2010.

emus to drop off the pace.I DON'T THINK SO. senior coach's will have a
better idea of sfl In 2010.
This year they had to learn about our players as well as oppositon players. they will improve.
will lose one player and hopefull gain one.
2009 youngest average age of last 6 grand finals played in. thanks to fish and gaskin.
we had 3 kids still eligible for under 18s play a grade all year. maybe that is why our 18s didn't
look as strong to you. trust me there is some quality pushing up. I was very happy with 18s.
Don't count on us droping off. We want to improve. I think there are clubs out there that will improve, bring it on.
RFC 2010 you say brighton were dominant for most off the season. they were till they played
m/vale. you say there 18s and bs are pure quality fare call, but they have to devolp that to
a grade.
cove will come out firing. you would think.
reynella with the great men from m/vale running the place will contiue to improve.
had a very tough run to get into the grand final. may be the difference in the end.
If you wan't the cup you will have to improve. Don't expect as to drop off the pace, to much
experience for that. we have some great men as well.
EMUS? the rock stars of the outback.
emus are berserk. they run fast, playhard,
and to be honest, we admire their insanity.
