You still don't get where the posters are coming from with their comments SB!!!

You named 21 players there, now tell me, with all the new recruits coming in, who will not play B grade, all of a sudden for these 21 youngsters there is less and less spots in the A grade for them to develop better! 21 dont squeeze into 6-9 spots.
Thats the point people are making. Yes recruit 1 or 2 quality players to help them out, but dont go over the top and take their oppurtunities away.

P.S. what are your thoughts now they have given M. Irvine the flick?? he seemed to be on the right track. Will he stay involved or has he spat it? And hows mitts goin so far?[/quote]

I do get what some are posting and I am trying to answer as best I can.
Yes you can only play 21 and the opportunitys have not gone away.

Ratsy has done a fantastic job over the past 3 years in development and challenging to play outside your comfort zone. He was not appointed this year but that takes nothing away from the quality person he has been at the Shoe.

Trevor as expected has been like a bull at a gate and is looking forward to next Wed when we start pre season.

Scott is a nice bloke get on well with him but he has prob been not at the emus as long as he has in the last 10 years as for slops dth you mustn't know him very well. Yes he is someone who puts in effort at a club but wouldn't be too many people who actually like him or have time for him. The guy is an absolute w4nker. I think what the emus are saying is they aren't devo

They went within 1 game of making a GF and do have a solid system. Would you prefer they waited for juniors to fill the void and maybe miss a window for a flag or pick up 1 or 2 recruits?

We aren't talking about Noarlunga recruiting we are talking about Noarlunga burning their future for a quick fix of finals footy. Regardless of recruiting Noarlunga will not win the flag next year, Brighton might.

people who gives a toss what the shoes pick up and what they spend. If they want that path to follow so be it, maybe they will learn this time. The top 4 (bri, cove, flies, emoos) will be a step in front of the rest in 2010. For every player that the other clubs go out and recruit (with $$$$$) to strengthen the a grade these clubs will get 2 players for next to nothink. Attracting quality to improve isn't just about $$$$$$. Its also about what else you can give them within the club e.g. goodtimes, direction, premiership dreams, basically the culture.

I agree they are the big 4, and should feature again in 2010. Can't really see any other club strong enough to contend at the moment

So the shoes recurit about 3-4 players to help out there kids and the whole clubs gone to sh1t.I can not work out why so many of you blokes get your knickers in a twist because NFC have pick up a couple of players.LAst time i saw them play there were a couple of 25-30 blokes who werent up to it so i guess they are doing the right thing and surrounding there youth with a bit more talent to hopefully fast track them into quality A grade footballers.
I mean would a Liam Green or a Billy Carroll be as good as they are if they were playing at a lesser club.No IMHO because they play at the Emus and surround by quality players with a winning culture they can play there roles and alot of the load is shared amongst the group.
Ok had my morning rant.HAve a nice day :D
