White will be a big plus for Sollies, wonder who he will bring with him.

When I heard it the first time I thought someone was yanking my chain but have heard same rumour twice since so thought Id slap it on the forum.

Whitey has always indicated he might come back one day and it is pretty uplifting for the rest of the boys to have a bloke answer the call like this! Awesome for the club. Will get a couple of others with him.

Scott Feltus!! The gun from the Eyre Peninsula or the one that had a Wayne Carey type experience the last time he played for South before playing with West Augusta and finally getting suspended for 60 games or so in the RMFL for an outburst at an umpire or something?

They have offered me a Baker Bears sprinkle donut for every kick I get. Reckon I'll be enjoying about ten of them by season's end :D

If its the one we all know and love (to hate) he'd be in his late 30's by now surely, he played in Souths premierships back in 92,93. I saw him about 5 years ago and he's lost his trademark blonde mullet too which is a little disappointing!

Played at Riverton also when they were in the BLG for a while. Very ordinary on-field attitude (and we all loved to bring it out in him) but was bloody handy when on song. A bit less of the greens and he could have played SANFL (at least).

Talking to an old mate of mine from Ports and he tells me Gale is staying and they have signed 2 school teachers who are good footballers. Luteria will likely stay and they are chasing 3 or 4 quality recruits.
On another topic ive been gone from Pirie for a long time how is the cricket going up there? How many teams whats the standard like and who are the good players in the comp?

Five cricket teams, in current ladder order: Proprietary, Wandearah, South Port, Risdon, Solomontown.

Standard between top three teams is pretty good, bottom two drop away dramatically.

Some of the better players: Simon & Andy Fuchs, Dwayne Sedunary, Tyson Horsnell (Props), Gabe Turci, Adam Wilson, Rhys Gillett (Wand), Pavlich (SP), Cam Pine (Risdon), Luke Davis (Sollies).

Props comfortably beat Wandearah on the weekend with Sedunary batting throughout the 50 overs for 99 not out!

Thanks for the cricket report. I enjoyed the years I played up there with North but I see they werent in the five clubs. Have they folded? And I recall SouthPort folded have they come back? and if so thats a remarkable effort.

Yep North folded a couple of years ago.
At the time they had quite a strong team, with quality players such as Laz Kovacevic, Nigel Anderson and others.
It's fair to say that some organisational and off field issues were neglected, and they weren't in a position to continue and I think in fact owed fees to the association when they folded. Many players have gone onto other clubs with Kovacevic now combined team captain and at Props, where I think a combined team cap comes with the registration form
Southport are back and are going great guns. They, like Wandearah, are based at Port Oval. A very organised club, they are doing really well and they have added depth to the Competition with Solomontown and Risdon struggling in the A Grade at present.
