had a look.. recall a particular game against mallala where he got half the score and moved into the middle at half time and ended up second best!! suggests maybe the midfield wasnt up to scratch against them and couldnt win the clearances to give the forwards an opportunity to put a score on the board..

Your kidding yourself......... dominated in the finals   he was barely seen in GF day when it counted. Maybe he should have went into the midfield that day too.

As for the game earlier in the year against Mallala, I dont think you could really read too much into a FF getting 2nd best in a team that lost by 15 goal!

coaching decision isnt it??

Thomas was Forward pocket, and not a bad tally for that (6 goals off the winner), Sam Jericho had him "hands" down until he left mid year, and Joe Hunt for the second half of the year also, and thats just from my club!

Hardly the best full forward in the comp

are we talkin about the same guy?? didnt he win the goal kicking for the league? and he kicked a bag against every team bar mallala (which we've already discussed) so it kind of justifies the tag doesnt it.. you cant argue with results boys

think you missed the point.
YES - he was the leading goal kicker last year.
NO - he definately wasnt the best full forward in the league.

Gavin Wanganeen played 1 game in the leauge 2 or 3 years ago.
did he win the B&F or MAIL MEDAL - NO
was he the best player in the league - YES

no doubt that you are a WALLY. why say that you havent seen him play since he was a kid, then say that you saw him play 2 games last season???

jumbo was the one that said he kicked most of his goals against hamley.
there is no doubt that the guy was a key component to Two Wells last year.
mainly because two wells lack guys with bigger bodies.
if he was such a gun, why wouldnt two wells do everything to keep him?
maybe they dont think he is worth $400-$600.

it's obvious he was the best full forward last year he kicked the most goals i would have thought a no brainer, all the other full forward i presume played against hamley to. in saying that i don't think he is the best in the comp id much prefer a sam mcardle, jericho or evans to kick to

The only reason he kicked the most goals was that Jericho and hunt played half a year full forward each, where as Hand played full forward every week and played Hamley 3 times, that does not make him the best full forward.

Hand was the best forward in the plains this season. Although he did play against Hamley 3 times this season and kicked 24 of his 64 goals against Hamley Bridge, Hand along with the Two Wells midfield was the main reason why the rooster played off in this years grand final. Hand is probably not worth $600 a game but how much do Two Wells want to win a premiership.

from what i hear he actually spent the first half of the year playing predominately in the middle.. he wasnt positioned permanantly at FF until the last quarter of round 9 against balaklava..

so jericho and hunt were the best for half a year but over the whole year hand was.. don't get me wrong i think their are better full forwards but i can't see what else you want from a full forward other than goals which he did better than anyone else THIS year

There is a reason why he wasnt picked in the Association team in 2009.............. it was because Sam McArdle is a better FF. Pretty simple..he has 2 SANFL League Premiership medals to back that up!!

As for the game earlier in the year against Mallala, I dont think you could really read too much into a FF getting 2nd best in a team that lost by 15 goal!

You clearly know more about his season than anyone on here so why are you asking us. Unless you really are pumping up your own tyres.....
One day original John Palmer will be found & the truth will be known.

Heard Hamley have signed Travis Natt, ex big fella from Seaton Ramblers/Port Magpies.

Can anyone confirm? Must be close to import quota too!
