Oh my Darling, oh my darling, oh my darling ricky boy. What the f*%k is he doing. Put him back on the tractor at Urrbrae High and let him stuff that up also. On the net ATCA state that problems were arising due to clubs naming ovals different names, well Unley LOD side had a game at Kingswood Oval in the middle of a b-grade game and another at Cabra East where Goodies play. Not sure how we confused him with naming Victoria Park West as our home ground.

I suppose now Rick Darling will get a pay rise

Still short of umpires but nothing unusual there. Standard hasn't changed either.

It's pretty good when we are about to start Round 2 and there is still no Full Season program up on the ATCA Website apart from the Juniors which was done by the Junior Co-ordinators themselves in one night with a little bit of tinkering to finalise them.

I have heard that a particular ground become available after a LO side pulled out and Rick Darling rang the Curator and asked him if that could the emergency ground if there was any clashes.

Surely by this stage they should have worked out the Program and if they will be ground clashes not asking a groundsman to keep his oval free for last minute clashes.

I could understand the initial stuff up but surely this is dragging on way to long now. Heads should roll and people should be getting to the bottom of this and making someone answerable rather than passing the buck.

Well said. It has become an absolute farce.

To get to this stage and not know who we are playing in round 3 is so far from being funny, Rick pull your finger out and get things sorted.

Its sad to see things being let to run down as they are. I guess its just lucky for some its a while before the next AGM

Again from the Turf website:

After the completion of this round fines will be issued for submitting late results.

Due to problems we have been having while trying to generate this seasons fixtures and problems with our computer we have decided to forgo any fines to clubs for submitting their results late. Please be aware that after the completion of this weekends games clubs will be fined for not completing match results, match reviews and umpire reviews on time.

Coming up to the 4th weekend of the season we still don't have a fixture and the Turf has the temerity to threaten fines for late lodging of results. Should be more worried about getting things right at their end first.

Things are looking up at the ATCA they have had a big week and managed to produce 3 more Rounds of cricket in a week. Thats is amazing as it took 6 weeks to get the first 3 rounds out. Must be all hands on deck with that fantastic workrate.

There is still hope of having a complete Program by Christmas. I'm guessing there is no chance of a Handbook being done this year.

Interesting result from A2 in R2. Concordia took 1st innings points and then rolled for 34 in 2nd dig. Payneham knocking up the 49 for victory with 1 wicket down.

Looks like a long season for Concordia, especially as they have 1 player in Mike Watson who is a gun but wont be able to do it all by himself this season.

Well they rolled PAOC for 180 odd and were 3 down for f*** all but no Watson. Obviously protecting himself for next week.

I see that Watson made 100* for Concordia for them to beat PAOC

So after a few games hows the season shaping up for most?

All i know is with this drought and water restrictions its bloody hard work as a bowler, but then its always been a batsman's game.

I play for Ingle Farm in the C3 Grade.

On a personal note, I've got 9 wickets for 98 from 31.5 overs with 6 maidens. Batting wise, I have had 2 digs for 16* and 0.

Team wise, it's been a season of extremes...2 outright losses and an outright win. We've only got 6 members of our squad over the age of 21, with 8 or so Under 15's and 17's regularly playing for us. We're very much a bowling side, with not much quality batsmen to chase totals.

Sensational 20/20 game game played at Payneham Oval last night between Payneham 1st XI and East Torrens 1st XI. The Dukes went into bat first and bowled out for 126. East Torrens looking the goods until Undies bowled a hat trick to leave East Torrens at 6 for 64 ( i think, the scoreboard was downstairs and I was in the bar...not drinking, but serving...just for the record)

Came down to ET 11 runs from 11 balls, then a couple of 4's later it was 3 runs from 4 balls...next ball, the wickets went flying and it was the Dukes that came out victors in a very tight and entertaining game...
